Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM

The Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM ($509.99 direct) is impressively compact when you consider its wide-angle field of view and fast aperture, but there are some optical compromises that you should be aware of. It is compatible with both APS-C and full-frame...

Compact. Fast aperture. Minimal distortion. Sharp when stopped down a bit

Not sharp at maximum aperture. Prone to color fringing. No image stabilization. Hood not included

The EF 28mm f/1.8 USM is a fast wide-angle optic for use with Canon D-SLRs, but it isn't sharp at its maximum aperture and is prone to color fringing.

Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM Lens

The Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM Lens is currently Canon's fastest 28mm lens. And the only wider angle lens that is faster (wider aperture) is the Canon EF 24mm f/1.4 L II USM Lens.

Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 Lens

The Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 Lens is both light in weight and light on your wallet

The Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 Lens is a decent lens for the price.

Fast Prime

Fast prime lense, great Fstop, nice focal length for indoors on a crop sensor. good bokeh and depth of field. I'm hoping to upgrade to the 28mm with IS soon

No image stabilization meant some of the pictures were blurry if i was not perfectly still

Don\'t Debate!

I use this lens for portraiture and everyday photography. If you are looking to step away from kit lenses or looking for a prime lens, this is the one. Clear photos, great speed, and the build is AMAZING. I\'m never going anywhere with out this lens....

Great at night!

This lens amazes me every time I use it at night whether with a tripod or my speedlite. Beautiful 14 point stars from light sources in a photo. I've used it as a walk around lens on a crop frame camera as well during the day and would recommend a...

Good lens --

Very well constructed lens. I've taken to using it as a walkabout lens in conjunction with my 50mm over just carrying the kit lens. Overall, I wish the focus was just a hair sharper, but then again I may be biased as I tend to compare sharpness of...

Picture taker

Their is a little noticeable barreling around the sides, so be careful if straight lines are important. (As with all wide-angle lenses) Good balance, good size.

Purchased this lens for my Rebel XSi. With the XSi all lenses have a 1.6 multiplying factor, so it looks like a 50mm on a film XLR. I wanted something fast for indoor photos without a flash. Focus is critical. Good color and detail when you set up the...

You have to force this lens f-stop down to get good depth of field. Some like the 'bokeh', I don't. I go for f10-14 on a tripod and I am happy
