Canon EF 24-70mm f/4 L IS USM Lens

As the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4 L IS USM Lens hits the streets, Canon has more 50mm prime lenses in its lineup than it has full frame general purpose zoom lenses - four vs. three.I am omitting from my count the large, heavy EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM...

Great Lens

Having owned the 24-70 2.8L for several years, for those of you wondering if it is worth the cash to upgrade I would say while not a night and day difference there are enough improvements to make it a worth while investment. The focus is faster, the...

Best Lens In The Bag,,,

I've read the reviews and wondered if this lens is as good as everyone says it is. It is. It's an amazing piece of equipment and it's almost impossible to take a bad picture with it.

Sharp, fast, bokeh, looks great

None really. Some complain it's a little heavy but I usually carry a Canon 100-400 so this isn't a big deal for me

More Canon Goodness

I suppose the IS is not needed in a wider lens due to the focal length, but I can see it being useful at 70mm.

Typical canon sharpness build quality and reliability. I have all canon glass and this purchase recently is one of the few lenses I didnt have to bridge the gap between the ultra wide and the super long stuff

No IS

Expensive, heavy, and totally worth it!

If you are considering this lens as an upgrade, do it sooner rather than later. If you are thinking that it's too expensive, and a lessser lens will work 'just as well' you are wrong.

This lens takes razor sharp pictures in every situation. Low light, sports, portraits, and anything else. I had been using the 75-300 IS F/4.5-5.6 Canon lens, but was having difficulty with school gyms and their low light. This lens blows it out of the...

This lens is heavy. And expensive. But the quality is unmatched, and the images it produces are outstanding

Yes, its worth it.

It is heavy. Like really, really heavy. While you don't need a monopod with its excellent IS, your arms will be begging you for one.

Amazing clarity. AF is insanely fast and accurate. Built like a brick s**thouse

You can't blame your lens for lousy pics anymore

Excellent Lens from Canon

I upgraded to this lens from Canon's 70-200mm non-IS lens, and honestly, there is a world of difference. The pictures are extremely clear, and I love the Image Stabilizer. I took a video from the back of a small coffee shop, with my 60D and this lens...

It is quite expensive, but it was totally worth it to me
