Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS ($499.99 direct) isn't the newest lens on the block, but it's still around despite a newer version being available. The newer lens is the Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM —it's $50 more, and its STM motor...

Very sharp. Long zoom range. Optically stabilized

Lacks STM capability. Some distortion

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS is an older lens that lacks STM focusing capability, but is still a step up from your D-SLR's standard kit lens.

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens review is planned

IS is especially helpful on a relatively narrow aperture lens such as this one. Details of the aperture step-down are in the Lens Specifications link, but this is not a good lens for stopping action in low light levels - at least not without a flash.

Excellent walking around lens

This lens is an excellent walking around lens. It has a good zoom range and image quality. I'm a little disappointed by the cheap feel, but it doesn't impact it's performance.

An Average Lens, Barely, Barely Acceptable

I purchased this lens to use with my 50D. I wanted a lens that had a good zoom range, which this lens has. However, the lens has issues which doesn't make it a good buy for the price Canon is asking.

none

Slow auto-focus, Poor build quality, auto focus mechanism jerky, not sharp, Poor Color Reproduction

Great lens and value

I find this lens to be a great value. It produces sharp images, focuses well and has the basic features of image stabilization and AF switches on the lens.

Super-sharp images, good value

Not a Pro-Lens...but I'm no longer a Pro

It's not an L lens - that being said, It's a great walk around - In good light and with an f stop of greater than 6 the image is quite sharp...I was pleasantly surprised. If you shoot jpg - I found I had to adjust the sharpness and contrast on my t3i -...

Focal Length Range, Image Quality

Have to shoot at f6 or higher to get the colors to snap
