Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens

A new 7.5x standard zoom lens that automatically selects the optimum Image Stabiliser mode. Announced at the beginning of September, this new Canon standard zoom lens was designed to complement the EOS 7D body on which we tested it. Providing a focal...

The review lens focused accurately in the AF mode with longer focal length settings, although we experienced some hunting with the longer focal length settings in low light levels. When the viewfinder was used for shot composition, AF speeds were...

REVIEW: Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS

Gary Wolstenholme takes a look at this lightweight 7.5x superzoom lens for EF-S compatible Canon cameras with Image Stabilisation.

Good resolution at optimum apertures; Lightweight design; Effective Image Stabiliser

Chromatic Aberrations at 18mm; Barrel distortion at 18mm; No lens hood supplied

For a budget superzoom, Canon's 18-135mm isn't that bad at all. It is capable of producing images with good sharpness across the frame at optimum apertures and the Image Stabiliser works very well. Sharpness isn't everything though, and owners of this...

Versatile Lens

Purchased this lens because of its wide range and my need for a single lens for a future trip. This is my first purchase so I do not have much to compare it too, however the pictures I have taken are all sharp and in focus. I couldn\'t ask for more...

This lens came in the kit with my new EOS 7D, still pretty new, (1 week) but so far seems great! It is a great all around general purpose lens. Images are sharp and clear. WINNER

An Average Lens, Barely, Barely Acceptable

I purchased this lens to use with my 50D. I wanted a lens that had a good zoom range, which this lens has. However, the lens has issues which doesn't make it a good buy for the price Canon is asking.

none

Slow auto-focus, Poor build quality, auto focus mechanism jerky, not sharp, Poor Color Reproduction

Great lens and value

I find this lens to be a great value. It produces sharp images, focuses well and has the basic features of image stabilization and AF switches on the lens.

Super-sharp images, good value
