Seems OK

Works OK at the lower opacities - seems to have a bit of a colour cast at high opacities - it would be nice if it had a few detentes to give a bit of tactile feedback when setting up.

Medium to bad quality at medium price

When I purchased this filter I was expecting to be surprised in a good way. The product review was great. But using this filter is not as the brand review advertises. When one uses the filter half way, it gets some good results, but if one sets the...

Hama 52mm Variable ND Filter

Unfortunately this filter is rubbish i got an 8 quid one that was better than this. Maybe mine was defective or was damaged in transit, but at least I got a refund when i returned it.

Too good to be true

It seemed such a good idea: one variable ND filter rather than several individual ones. My main problem in using it was the completely random hit and miss on auto-focussing, as through the lens it was often too dark to focus manually. I resorted to...

variable nd, great

hama are a reliable manufacturer and this is a reliable product. saves you carrying around numerous filters of different densities. if, like me, you use a bridge camera you will find it invaluable.

Fantastic product

I bought the Hama Variable ND filter due to it's past reviews and it's price bracket. The Hama Variable ND filter comes in very nice packing, as it's well protected by foam to prevent any knocks or bumps doing any damage to the glass or circular frame...

Quality issues

The product, as a concept, is very appealing. Just one filter to give a scalable range of Neutral Density filtering from ND 2 (pretty weak) to the extreme ND 400 (near black in daylight). However the first issue is that the filter steps up. Meaning...

Hama variable ND (62mm)

This filter seems to do the job fairly well on my Pentax KR. I'm sure it's not up to pro standards, and it's not marketed as such, but for the average amateur photographer it gets the job done. I haven't yet been able to test the filter for taking...

Not bad

This filter is actaully a bit longer than it looks and a little wider than standard, emaning that I can't clip my lens hood on to it. Performance wise, it seems to do the job. Hama claim it's coated and whilst I can't see any of the traditional...

ThIs filter also acts as a linear polariser

Can't really complain because it is very cheap but these filters normally have two quarter-wave plates so that they are circularly polarising (effectively non-polarising) to the front and rear. This filter has only one quarter-wave plate at the rear to...
