Nikon AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED

The Nikon AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED lens allows you to capture the world in a unique perspective, but it only autofocuses with select Nikon SLRs.

Compact. Ultra-wide fish-eye. Very sharp. Close focus capability.

Pricey. Lacks internal focus motor. Shows some color fringing.

Conclusions It's not often that I think of a lens as especially fun to use—photography is an enjoyable hobby, but it's more about the experience than the tool used to get a shot. I'd say that the Nikon AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED is an...

Nikkor AF 10.5mm f/2.8G ED DX Fisheye

Classic full format 15mm fisheye lenses provide a rather disappointingfield-of-view (~120 degrees) when used on APS-C DSLRs. As of today the Nikon DSLR system is APS-C centric and consequently Nikon released a new fisheye dedicated to this format - the...

The Nikkor AF 10.5mm f/2.8G ED DX Fisheye is a very decentperformer with a very high resolution for most of the image frame. The primary weaknessesare chromatic aberrations (color shadows at the borders) and purple fringing (color blooming). Lateral...

Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye Nikkor review by JoeD90

This lens, like all fish-eye lens, is all about understanding where it will be at its best. I love to use it in big spaces. The bigger the space, the less noticeable the lens will be without editing. The fish-eye effect is great, when that is what you...

Small, sharp, predictable, well built

Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye Nikkor review by adrian snow

What a great lens. Don't listen to people that tag this lens as a lens that is exclusive to skateboarder/snowboarder photography.

f/2.8 maximum aperature, sharp..even wide open, ultra-wide

Build quality left wanting, don't lose your lens cap

Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye Nikkor review by Cliff Beard

Tiny lens I always tend to keep in the bag as it takes up so little space.

Tiny, fun, optical quality

as with any fisheye limited use

Jason Stuck of http//www.beakspeak.com was nice enough to provide me sample photos taken from his D200 here:

MFD is only 1.2 inches

As with most fish-eyes...front element is exposed

This is easily the most fun lens in my bag. Anytime I hit a creative block all I need to do is throw this on and go nuts.

Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye Nikkor review by marokero

I initially had read Ross_Alford's review (down below), among others from around the web and decided to get the lens. It definitely is a fun lens, allowing me to capture shots that would otherwise be impossible in tight quarters, like this shot I took...

Can't say a whole lot more than what has already been said about this lens. Very few people probably NEED this lens, but it provides a great creative outlet that enables you to shoot in ways you wouldn't have otherwise thought of.

Unique Perspective, Great Image Quality, Compact Package

Gelatin Filters only
