Nikon AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G

The first DX Nikkor with the classic advantages of a high-speed "normal" lens ($220, street), this 52mm full-frame equivalent is also the fastest DX and widest nonfisheye digital-only Nikkor prime. It has a single aspheric element, Nikon's super-quiet...

Nikon 35-70mm f/2.8D AF Zoom-Nikkor Review Round-Up

Want a screaming bargain on a fast professional midrange zoom? Get one of these while you still can. They went out of production in 2006. Previously I've questioned the utility of any lens which can only zoom 40% either way from 50mm, and is far...

NIKKOR AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G

If you're a Nikon shooter and you've been contemplating buying a reasonably priced, professional prime lens, you should give serious consideration to the new NIKKOR AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G.

REVIEW: Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G DX

This compact wide aperture lens for DX compatible Nikon digital SLRs costs around £170 and provides a similar angle of view to a 50mm lens used on a 35mm camera and sports a silent focusing motor.

Excellent optical quality; Good build quality; Light weight; Keenly priced

No distance markings for manual focusing

With a price of around £170, this lens is a bit of a bargain for DX users looking for a compact high quality lens for low light shooting, or to isolate a subject by exploiting shallow depth of field. The optical quality is excellent for a lens at this...

Fantastic lens!

I used this as a point & shoot for basic travel shots and even portraits. It's not the most expensive lens out there but it will perform just as well as a higher end 1.8

Great for up close, not macro

Wanted a macro lens, thought it was within the parameters but not quite close enough.

Excellent

Very clear and gets the focal background blur that you would expect, great price for a lens of this type, great to have in your collection of lenses.

So far so good.

Certainly is good in low light. But I am thinking the 50mm 1.8 would have been a better choice for me. Be sure to compare in detail before making your choice.
