Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G is a solid lens if you want a lightweight 35mm for your Nikon SLR, but it's not the best one you can get.

Quite sharp. Compact and light. Not that expensive. Wide aperture

Some barrel distortion. Lacks optical stabilization

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G ($599.95) is a fairly inexpensive, lightweight 35mm f/1.8 lens for Nikon cameras. It works with both full-frame and APS-C bodies, boasts an internal focus motor, and captures images with excellent sharpness. There's no...

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G Review

The AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G was announced at the beginning of 2014. It joins a growing family of modernised full-frame primes from Nikon with the same maximum aperture, alongside the AF-S Nikkor 28mm f/1.8G, AF-S Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G and AF-S Nikkor 50mm...

Great lens and sharp.

Yes

I like it because it's small and has sharp pictures. However, not like as much as my Nikon 50mm f/1.8G AF-S.

A fine lens

If it's Bokeh you're after, take a look at the 50mm instead. Better for portraits on an APS-C/DX body too.

A fine lens. Small, light and FAST.

Avoid Always.Deals. They advertise as having the full five year Nikon warranty but ship grey market imports with ZERO warranty.

Great Lens, no 5yr warranty

Great lens

Do Not Buy from Always.Deals they are selling grey market, does not have Nikon USA 5 Yr Warranty, refused to pay return shipping even thought they are deceiving customers.

Great lens!

Great low light lens for the price. I keep in on most of the time because of the compact size. Best lens in the bag!

None at that price.

Every DX format DSLR needs this lens

Great lens for those looking for an affordable prime lens. The 50mm 1.8g isn't much more and includes a focus scale. It can also produce silky smooth Bokeh even when you background is close to your subject. However this 35mm is a better bet if you...

This lens takes tack sharp photos and with the background at the right distance it can produce great bokeh (back ground blur). On a DX format DSLR which would be the D1 series, D100, D40,D50,D60,D70, D70s,D80,D90,D3100/3200,D5100/5200,D7000,D200 and...

No focus scale. Every prime lens should have one. My 40mm 2.8 DX macro and my 50mm 1.8G both have focus scales why the 35mm doesn't have one will always be a mystery to me.

So good its a crime

BUY THIS LENS!!! It was the best money I ever spent on a lens.

I have had this lens for over a year now, and it is by far my favorite of all of my DX lenses, and stays on my cameras at least 80% of the time, the other 20% are dedicated macro lens or zooms. Its super fast at F1.8, focuses fast and the pics are...

I couldn't give it 6 eggs. OK, so really the only con is that its really only good for DX camera's, so don't waste your time on film or FX camera's like the D700 or D3, you don't spend $2500+ on a camera to run it in DX crop mode, that's like owning a...
