Nikon's new ultra-wide zoom sets a new standard of excellence

Consumer review by:

Awesome wide and awesome sharp!

Absolutely awesome edge to edge sharp images. This lens is wider than the Nikon 15mm Fisheye and keeps lines straight. It is fast enough for challenging low light situations. It is heavy. But, compared to other lenses I tote around on a regular basis,...

Virtually no distortion!

I love this lens. It is super sharp and virtually free of distortion. It really performs like no other super-wide zoom I\'ve ever had (or prime for that matter). Contrast and color are excellent. Sharpness is excellent. The only downside is its size...

What a great lens!

I have had the lens for a week and have taken a good number of pictures. This is a great lens that is tack sharp, is very fast, and produces beautiful pictures. In comparison with my 18-200mm VR "walking around" lens, this one is noticeably sharper....

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED

The ultimate in ultra-wide for Nikons, the AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm 1:2.8G is the perfect addition to any kit. As a full frame lens it will be perfect on your D3, D700, or most modern Film SLRs from Nikon (it works perfectly on my F80). Even on your DX...

Sharp at any aperture, right open to f/2.8 ; Sealed, can be used in downpour without any problems ; Comparable even with older film based SLRs (F4 and up)

G, no manual aperture control ; Front element is curved, preventing the application of a protective filter ; Weird slip on lens cap

Stunning Lens

Sold my 10.5 fisheye to buy this lens and will find it much more useful since lines are straight and the zoom range is perfect.

I am used to working with a D700 and 50mm and this 14-24mm really isnt THAT much heavier. It has very quick focus and strong output. I am so glad I bought one!!
