I bought it together with a tripod adaptor, so now I can use this lens for almost any purpose. It sure is heavy, but it delivers great quality. The quality at f/2.8 is good and it gets even better when you stop it down.

optical quality! It is damn sharp- has a great Bokeh- f/2.8

heavy

A great lens if you have a pro-body, for half the price of a 70-200 AFS.

Great image quality, fast aperture.Good bokeh for portrait use.Low cost compared to newer lenses (still available new)

Slow AF on non-pro bodies.No VR.Heavy

I have bought the "pump" zoom version (older, same optical formula). Looks like new - and indestructible. My favorite portrait lens, also good at many other things.

Fast lens, very high optical quality at least in 80-135mm range, a bit less, maybe, under certain conditions (200mm, corners at short distance) but still very good. Excellent lens for portrait (good "bokeh"). Maybe the sharpest lens I have ever...

very heavy. "Pump" model cannot receive tripod collar. AF (on pump model) is not very fast, and a bit noisy
