Nikon Nikkor AF-S Micro 60 mm f/2.8G ED

There are really a lot of macro 50-60 mm lenses available currently on the market. You can divide them into two distinct groups. The first one consists of instruments designed for smaller sensors – as examples we can list here such lenses as the Canon...

solid, compact casing ; sensational image quality in the centre and on the edge of the frame ; zero distortion ; low coma ; slight astigmatism ; coatings of excellent quality which give high transmission and the right colour rendering ; good autofocus...

significant vignetting ; a bit too high chromatic aberration near the maximum relative aperture ; lack of a focus limiter

Nikon Nikkor AF-S Micro 60 mm f/2.8G ED

Too slow for Portrait shooting, but can be used in a pinch. No VR is inhibiting in low light situations. It isn't my go to lens for macros very often due to the close focus distance and issues with shadow cast, but I do love the image quality.

Light, substantial feeling and smooth autofocus. Photos look sharp

Close focus on FX cameras is about 3-4 inches

Nikon Nikkor AF-S Micro 60 mm f/2.8G ED

Terrific!

Compact 1:1 macro, great IQ with fast auto-focus. I use three Nikon macros (60G, 105VR and 200) depending on subject matter and working distance requirements. When I want to carry a macro and travel light this is the lens I carry. Works satisfactorily...

Nikon Nikkor AF-S Micro 60 mm f/2.8G ED

I love my Nikkor 105mm VR, but the images I've been getting from the 60mm have been blowing me away.

Superb optical quality. Excellent contrast; very solid performer wide open. Great as a macro and as a portrait lens

A bit expensive. Need to get real, real close to achieve 1:1 reproduction
