Compared to the Pentax offering this is great value and definitely worth considering. Being a rectilinear lens it has only a little corner and barrel distortion at 10mm. Although screw driven, the autofocus is fast. I'm not sure about the velvety Sigma...

I bought this lens purely for landscapes mostly panoramics it gives a super wide view and when you crop the .raw file top and bottom to make the final image you end up with fantastic images.It's not much use for portraits but it wasn't designed for...
