Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG ASPHERICAL HSM

If you're in the market for a near pro-quality ultra wide angle zoom lens, the Sigma 12-24mm EX DG provides a good value. It's a bit on the expensive side, but shouldn't need replacing for quite a few years. This lens has won several awards, and...

Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX HSM DG AF Review Round-Up

The Sigma AF 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX HSM DG is the most extreme full format ultra-wide zoom lens around and it is still a “mainstream” ultra-wide lens when used on APS-C DSLRs. If you're looking for a future-proof “duo-format” lens in this class - well,...

I'm not a fan of Sigma. Get the Nikon or Canon for a digital camera. For a film camera by all means order one here or here and see if you like it. You can return it if you don't like it.

Wider than wide!

For the specification an excellent lens. I have got some great landscape shots with it and used it indoors in very cramped condition at my son\'s wedding getting shots that \'ordinary\' wide angle lenses can\'t reach on my Canon 5d Mk2.

Insanely wide!

It\'s a bit churlish of me to list \'slightly soft corners\' in the list of cons above. After all, this is the world\'s widest angle lens for full frame so it\'s a fantastic achievement by any measure. Image quality really is astoundingly good overall....

Excellent build quality","Hardly any CA","Sharp centre and borders","Very very wide on FF

Doesn\'t take filters","Fractionally soft corners

Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 II DG HSM review by nh_photofan

Soft in corners at 12mm until f/11-f/16. A little more CA than I had hoped with all that FLD glass. More barrel distortion at 12mm (but easy to correct) than I saw in tests of original version lens (I don't have it). Not as good on full frame as the...

Excellent center sharpness. Good corner sharpness when stopped down. Good autofocus, fast and accurate

Soft in corners at 12mm until f/11-16. Some CA seen

sharp , almost never flare ,superfast AF,wide really wide, very well controlled distortion

a bit too much CA at long end, a bit more distortion than the old 12-24

Wider then wide

The widest lens for your full frame DSLR without going to the 8mm fisheye (which I also own). Very little distortion and quite simply an amazing lens.

An amazing lens on a FF camera. My copy is very sharp for an ultrawide zoom (some corner softness wideopen like the 17-40L). Build is good, AF fast and colour is very pleasing. I've read lots of bad reports but I'm very pleased with this lens. It also...

wide, decently sharp, no distortion, good build

relatively poor reputation, can't use front filters
