Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM

Sigma's 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM is the lens to get if a 70-200mm f/2.8 just isn't long enough, but you'll need a strong back to lug it.

Wide f/2.8 aperture throughout zoom range. Impressive telephoto reach. Very sharp. Minimal distortion. Excellent build quality. Compatible with USB dock

Expensive. Very large and heavy. Huge front element increases filter costs

The Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM ($3,599 direct) isn't a lens for the faint of heart. The zoom, which is compatible with full-frame and APS-C camera bodies and is available in Canon, Nikon, and Sigma mounts, brings new meanings to the words big and...

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens

The Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens is a physically beautiful lens that delivers also-beautiful image quality even with a wide open aperture.Remarkable is that this lens has the widest max aperture available in any 300mm lens (f/2.8), but...

Lens Test: Sigma APO 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM

Sigma has an enviable corner on the f/2.8 long telezoom market: Its massive 200–500mm and more manageable 120–300mm full-framers are the sole occupants of the niche. Now, Sigma has upgraded the latter, adding image stabilization to this pro's 70–200mm...

Wait for NEW SPORTS version

very good lens but Sigma is replacing it with the Sports version in about a month that has even nicer finish, USB ports for firmware updates, and it will have Sigma's very good OS

Fast glass, high quality finish, made in Japan, sharp and fast to AUTO focus

no OS which is Sigma's VR, will not connect to the USB dock for firmware updates, will be replaced almost anytime now with the OS version that has newer technology and can connect to Sigma's USB dock greatly enhancing it's life of service

Poor quality

I bought the lens for about a month. I actually mounted the lens on my D300 only once to take a few test shots. It basically had sat in my safe all the time. When tried to use it last month, I was surprised to find the brand new lens was no longer...

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM APO review by roaniecowpony

This is a great zoom range for the sports and aviation shooter. Nikon needs to cover this range with a VR lens. This lens would benefit from Sigma's new Optical Stabilization (OS). I bought this lens used and have used it for aviation mainly, but...

Good color, contrast, bokeh, speed and sharpness

AF could be faster, slight softness wide open

I get these lenses to shoot concerts and sports events. And I love the versatility of it. At 2,8 is a bit soft, but at 3,2-3,5 its great for the purpose(high

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM APO review by lextalionis

A truly remarkable Sigma Zoom. This is a wonderful sports and nature lens. Works very well with the Sigma TC's...highly recommend!

Very very sharp lens...only a wee bit of edge-softness at 300mm and f/2.8

Heavy, AF isn't as fast as expected, some Canon 1-series may have focus issues
