Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM

The Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM Lens is a standard zoom for APS-C digital cameras. The lens has a fast f/2.8 aperture through its zoom range, but isn't that sharp when shot wide open.

Fixed f/2.8 aperture. Useful zoom range. Includes hood. Optical image stabilization

Soft wide open

Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC AF Review Round-Up

The Sigma AF 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC is a very good standard zoom and a viable alternative to the Nikon offerings in this range. Generally it is capable to produce very sharp results although the corner performance leaves a bit to be desired at 17mm at...

Excellent Lens, versatile and easy to use

This is an excellent type of lens to use when taking pictures in low lit conditions with being a zoom lens at an f/2.8. I am experimenting with different kinds of lenses, and this one has to be one of the better lens I used. The body is made from a...

Wide lens diameter, made with durable material, and a wide range of distances for close up shots or far away shots

Slightly heavy, but not a problem

Had to return it

I thought I'd save a little money by buying Sigma, but I was wrong. I have read that you have to be lucky to get a working lens on the first try. Was really looking forward to using this lens as my primary walk around, but I guess I'll stick with my...

Wished it worked. Customer service was prompt and let me refund it. Light weight and comes with a lens hood like all Sigma lenses. Canon should include the lens hood with their lenses

Didn't focus. Had to get a refund. Also, it's only F2.8 wide open

Excellent lens! Highly recommended.

If you are in the market for a 2.8 short zoom then don\'t hesitate to buy this lens. You will not be disappointed. I\'ve owned several lenses before this one. Most recently, the Tamron 17-50 2.8 non-VC. I bought it for the sharpness and 2.8 aperture,...

Product Specifications

Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC MACRO HSM lens. It can be used with wide variety of subjects and it is an ideal large aperture standard zoom lens for digital SLR cameras featuring APS-C size image sensor. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 7.9.. (20cm) throughout the entire zoom range. Maximum magnification of 1:2.3 enables close-up photography like a macro lens. The new lens design and multi layer lens coating reduce flare and ghosting, which is a common problem with digital cameras. A Special Low Dispersion (SLD) lens and two aspherical lens elements provide excellent correction for all types of aberrations and produce a high level of optical performance throughout the entire zoom range. This lens offers a large aperture of F2.8 at 17mm wide angle and yet it is compact, with an overall length of 82.5mm (3.2..) and diameter 79mm (3.1..). It performs superbly even in relatively low light conditions indoors or at dusk. The lens design incorporates an inner focusing system, which ensures fast AF speed as well as prevents the front of the lens rotating, making it particularly suitable for use with circular polarizing filters and petal shaped lens hoods. This lens is also equipped with Zoom Lock Switch that eliminates ..Zoom Creep.. during transportation. Enjoy all the benefits of this Sigma lens, plus you get all of the following brand new items: (1)5 Year Lens Extended Warranty (this extended warranty service plan gives you the highest level of customer service, savings, and peace of mind, letting you rest assured in the event your product needs repair) (2)Opteka High Definition² 3 Piece Filter Kit - Ultra-Violet, Polarizing and Fluorescent Filters (3)Opteka Professional Tabletop Tripod (4)Opteka 5 Piece Camera & Lens Cleaning Kit (5)LCD Screen Protectors
