18-125 mm f/3.8-5.6 DC OS HSM

worse image quality at the edge of the frame at the maximum focal length,, large distortion at the wide angle.

At the beginning, some casual digressions. I am thinking about sense of introducing on the market a lens of this class and parameters. Sigma already has a good model of 17-70 mm parameters, which on account of good brightness, good optics and usable...

Sigma AF 18-125mm f/3.8-5.6 DC HSM OS (Canon) - Review / Test Report

The Sigma AF 18-125mm f/3.8-5.6 DC HSM OS is an interesting lens with a couple of high and lows which is quite typical for such extreme zoom range lenses. The resolution characteristic is generally decent - only the soft borders at 125mm may be really...

Sigma 18-125mm f/3.8-5.6 DC OS HSM review by Gunars Grinvalds

I purchased this lens last week for my Sony A200 on purpose to replace Sony's old DT3,5-5,6/18-70 kit lens. I perform some tests to compare new lens with my Sony 18-70 and Sony DT 4-5,6/55-200 lenses.

Good sharpness, accurate, sufficiently fast and quiet AF, solid construction, reasonable price

Somewhat high chromatic aberration in 18-50 mm zoom region

Important update: I discovered today, a year after posting the review below, that in fact this lens takes quite sharp photos wide open, but you have to focus manually, or use the slow focus in live view on a Canon. The autofocus just doesn't deliver at...

Versatile, very good photos if you know what you're doing
