Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG HSM Art

The Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG HSM Art lens is the widest entry in the company's full-frame f/1.4 Art series. There's some fall-off at wide apertures, but it's extremely sharp and competitively priced.

Sharp from edge to edge. Minimal distortion. Wide aperture. 9.8-inch close focus. Full-frame coverage. Available for multiple camera systems.

Noticeable fall-off at f/1.4 and f/2. May require focus adjustment via USB Dock. Large and heavy. Omits stabilization.

Image Quality and Conclusions I used Imatest to see how sharp the lens was when paired with the 20-megapixel 6D. At f/1.4 it puts up excellent sharpness numbers, scoring 2,360 lines per picture height on a center-weighted test. That's better than the...

Sigma 24mm f1.4 ART review

The Sigma 24mm f1.4 DG HSM Art is a wide angle prime lens, available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts. Announced in February 2015, it's the second widest prime lens in Sigma's highly acclaimed Art series which includes the 50mm, 35mm, and 20mm f1.4...

Outstanding performance in the corners of a high-resolution full-frame sensor even wide open ; Good build quality ; Quiet and fast AF operation ; Relatively low price compared to the big names ; Low distortions ; Relatively low longitudinal CA ; USB...

Performance at the borders/corners of the DX/APS-C image circle at closer distances could be better ; No weather sealing

The Sigma 24mm f1.4 DG HSM Art is a very compelling addition to large aperture wide-angle lenses: it combines very good performance overall with Sigma's build-quality of the "Art" series. In optical performance this lens has only two flaws: It has some...

Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM A Review

Gary Wolstenholme puts one of Sigma's top of the range lenses to the test. Read on to see how it scores.

Excellent sharpness ; Very low CA ; Low distortion ; Well built ; Fast focusing ; Keenly priced

No weather sealing ; Falloff at maximum aperture (although typical for the type of lens)

To date, other lenses in Sigma’s ‘Art’ series of optics have been well received, thanks in part to the optical quality they deliver and for very reasonable pricing when compared to manufacturer’s own equivalent lenses.
