covers a better focal length than standard kit lens.

it is heavier than I am used to.

massive focal range. great quality, some softenin gof the image around the edges

quite heavy when using for a long time. the zoom creaps when extended, but it does have a lock feature, but this is a bit fiddley

I have a Canon 5D with 3 Sigma EX DG lens covering the range from 17 to 200 mm. The reason I purchased this lens is because when you are on holiday, a family day out, or at a party, with 3 lens you never seem to have the right lens on your camera to be...

None, how can there be for the the price you pay for the lens.

This is an all round lens solution for the Canon 400D. Where previously I'd carry three or four lenses, now I only carry one.

Because of the aperture rating this isn't a lens for indoor photography unless you have a decent flash. However for outdoor and general photography this is a good solution.

Great flexibility of range.

Picture quality isn't the most fantastic but that's the trade-off with going for a cheaper lens option. I'm still very happy with the lens.

Great all in one lense.....especially for travelling. No need to carry several lenses

Doesn't feel as solidly built as a Canon lense.....but super value at that price

Very light, easy to use! Decent lens, lengthy zoom

When I got the lens, I hardly used it to macro or zoom into objects, but recently I've used it, and the quality is very very poor when zoomed in, like the lens is cloudy, but it works fine when you are zoomed out and photographing an object far away....
