Completely lame

Well, these snap-on lenses ARE cheap! The picture you get for the effort is completely disappointing. I just through the lens away. It wasn't worth sending back for a few bucks.

this doesn't work well at all

Smart idea, but it's a hassle clipping and unclipping. On top of that... it messes up the pictures. The edges of the picture get distorted / out of focus... unless you zoom in a little. But that sorta defeats the purpose of having a wide-angle, doesn't...

Wide angle lens takes poor images

I have a perfect condition Canon SD550. The snap on lens takes about 90 percent of its photos with a light circle in the photo. It is a reflection of light that appears accross the image. I tried to use the product with no flash and was more...

Risky for the camera

As reviewed above, this will not work with the flash because it gets in the way and causes a dark spot. The optics are good for an inexpensive product. However I won't use it anymore because the little clips pulled the front plastic bezel of the lens...

Ok in daylight

Ok in daylight

This lens is ok if you don't need to use the flash. Since there is a space between the lenses, the flash distorts the image. Also, there is a tendency to blur around the edges. Overall, I like it but it does have limitations.

Product Specifications

Since it fits right over your camera's existing lens system, a wide-angle converter affects the full zoom range of your camera's lens. A wide-angle converter increases your angle of view - scenes include more of the landscape, groups include more people, and interiors show more of the room. A 0.5x wide-angle converter DOUBLES your angle of view, allowing you to get twice as much in the picture (AND your telephoto setting also becomes wider; not zooming in as close).
