Sunpak 0.5x Wide-Angle Converter Lens with Step-Up Rings for Select Digital Cameras

With provided adapters it'll fit most any camcorder with lens threading and provide a nice wider than normal view for minimal investment.

inexpensive, fun to use

Sunpak 0.5x Wide-Angle Converter Lens with Step-Up Rings for Select Digital Cameras

I purchased this lens and the Sony lens in the same trip to compare the two. The Sony model worked better for about the same price. I kept the Sony lens and returned the Sunpak one.

Sunpak 0.5x Wide-Angle Converter Lens with Step-Up Rings for Select Digital Cameras

I got this to film the high school marching band. The various size mounting rings made it easy to fit on my camcorder. I found that it distorts a lot on the edges with the lens on. For the money I would find something else- stay away from this brand.

Various mounting sizes

Lots of distortion on edges

Pretty good

"So i was expecting to have more of a fish eye lens, but this lens kind of just widens the image. I should have done more research on what sort of lens to get, but oh well. It's fine if you want more of a view, just not what i was hoping for"

ease of use

Seems fair

Seems fair

Like the Sunpak 2x tele-conversion lens, this low cost lens performs as expected for the price. It arrived in a blister pack with ring adapters that are useful if you need them. No lens covers or bag so it's difficult to keep clean. Works fine for...

Great for medium wide angle

Great for medium wide angle

The lens is well priced, of reasonably fair quality, and good for adding medium width to your wide angle video shot (as in when trying to photograph the Grand Canyon) or for shooting in tight spot areas where a little more video width to the left or...

I did a video of this

I did a video of this

The quality is good enough for DV-video but only in wide angle mode. Do not try to zoom too much with it or you will see the quality deteriorate very fast. The lens is very soft which is why I don't recommend it beyond DV usage. It's very cheap, and...
