Auto-Focus is unpredictable with this

I have had this teleconverter for several years. It does work, however as others have mentioned, autofocus is troublesome. Every auto-focus lens I have tried will endlessly hunt if your in medium to low light situation and you ultimately have to...

Mounting Problems for EFS lens

Mounting Problems for EFS lens

The Bower tele-converters work only on Canon's EF lenses. It will not work on the Canon EFS lenses. There's a difference in the way the EF and EFS lenses are made. The Canon camera body will accept both EF and EFS lenses, but Bower tele-converters...

Some good with some bad

I am please that the Bower 2X lens mounted to my EOS Rebel XT and performed well with my Canon EF 70-300mm zoom lens. But when my Canon EFS 18-55mm lens would not mount to the Bower 2X, I was very disappointed. The extra 1/8" of rubber-like material on...

Decent fot the money

Does not give you the feel of 2 x zoom but it does help. If you are using an image stabilized lens you will lose the Auto Focus abilities of the IS lens

Good image quality poor auto focus

Good image quality poor auto focus

I use this teleconverter with the Canon rebel XTI and the Canon EF 75-300 f4-5.6 III USM lens. The image quality is fine but the autofocus is poor. The lens (with the teleconverter) focuses very slowly at focal lengths under 270mm and at full 300mm...

Product Specifications

The Bower MC4 2x teleconverter (also known as a tele-extender) will multiply the focal length of the existing lens by 2x, and will cut back the amount of light by 2 f/stops. This precision optical accessory, which is compatible with your Minolta AF camera, allows you to increase the focal length of your lens without sacrificing optical quality. For example, using a 2x teleconverter with a 300mm lens will effectively increase the focal length to 600mm. A lens set to f/2.8 will now be f/5.6. It also reduce depth of field to the 50% of the master lens
