As others have noted, slow to auto focus and soft wide open. If used manually between F8-11, does a very admirable job.

I love this lens. As I stated above, I like everything about this lens except for the fact that is has to Vibration Reduction for hand held shots, but most of the time I am using this lens with a tripod, which means the VR needs to be turned off...

I bought this lens primarily for shooting panoramic outdoor landscapes but have found it useful in shooting indoors as well for real-estate photos. I am amazed at how little distortion there is at the edges if the shot is level.
