Apple TV (2012)

Released in March, Apple's third-generation puck ($100) retains the form factor of its predecessor while adding 1080p playback. The real draw remains the same, though: seamless integration with iTunes, iCloud, and the rest of the Apple ecosystem.

Apple TV review (2012)

After endless speculation and debate, Apple's latest event came and went with nary a mention of a Cupertino-made television set. But Apple's little set-top box did get a refresh, bringing some oft-requested upgrades and improvements to the $99 device....

1080p video looks great ; Really intuitive interface ; Setup is incredibly simple

Still not enough content ; Remote is too basic for some functions

Will an update to Apple's set-top-box help you cut the cord?

Apple TV review

Although the previous Apple TV was pretty slick to use, its lowly 720p output counted against it. For the 2012 new Apple TV, things have changed and it's now a Full HD 1080p video streamer.

Works brilliantly and smoothly with online movies and TV programmes, while AirPlay makes it at home on an Apple network. The limited file support and lack of UPnP support is still a little disappointing, though

AppleTV review

The AppleTV sports a slick, attractive graphical interface

affordable, compact design, attractive graphical interface

only provides access to very limited range of TV and video services

It is possible to run apps for some services on an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and then stream them to the AppleTV using AirPlay – but the AppleTV really needs to provide direct access to those services without requiring any expensive additional...

Apple TV (3rd gen) review

Full HD video and greater AirPlay support make the revamped Apple TV an attractive proposition

In short, as a standalone device, the Apple TV is still painfully short of compelling content. For those fully embedded in the Apple ecosystem, however, the Apple TV is becoming ever-more desirable.

Apple TV (160GB)

Subtle, sexy and slim, Apple TV is almost everything a telly-loving Mac-head could wish for. Only its file format fussiness, average HD quality and high price (without even a HDMI cable to show for it) might disrupt Steve Jobs’ plans for world...

Apple TV - Your TV's new friend

At £99 I think apple TV is a bit of a bargain, you get a mac quality at a reasonable price. This is perfect if you want to listen to music or watch shows downloaded from itunes, so much better than watching it on a laptop of tablet screen and far...

Apple tv, a cute handy little box at your fingertips.

So the 3rd generation of apple TV is out and costs much less than the apple tv 2 (This is because the 2nd generation can be hacked so you can basically watch anything in the world for free). Is there any point in getting it though? well read on.DESIGNO...

Very quiet, good picture display, cheaper than 2nd generation
