The Boxee Box does offer a lot of goodness - a whole bunch of apps, interesting design and is a very capable media-streaming device. However, you get the WD Live Hub with a 1TB hard drive built-in for considerably less money.

Very good HD playback, with the filters correctly set up, Boxee Media Manager app is easy to set up, Unique design, Remote has a complete keypad on one side

A couple of filters make video noisy, if turned on, UI feels dated, You get a WD Live Hub with a 1TB drive for slightly less cash!, Quite a few apps don�t work in India

Some good some bad

 

great for local file streaming but never really worked for streaming from the internet. Browser will work, but really frustrating to use.

Will play just about any file type you can think of ; I have had 2 Boxee boxes since they first came out. I had many issues until the most recent (last) software update. I never have any problems with the device crashing or locking up, but I only use...

Don't bother with the apps, they either just suck or only allow you to watch some guys video blog about something lame

Short Life

 

It did everything I wanted it do. Overall, I was pleased with the product until it failed

The device only lived for 14 months and then died. D-Link said they were sorry and couldn't do anything for me. Very poor customer service. I won't be buying any of their products in the future

good box but...

 

I have used my boxee for ~2.5 years and the windows client for 5 years (no longer supported also, but became open source, though still works great) while it doesn't pull hulu, it still has its own library of tv shows which i pull shows off the networks...

the controller is great, unofficial android app for controller works well (IDK about apple). as robust as VLC in media file playing, 1080p does great, easy to use

no longer software updated, no hulu app, no flash update (HTML5 works fine) ; (lack of flash update forbids me from watching Comedy Central, and Comcast's video of the ones I watch)

BUYER BEWARE!! BOXEE HAS DROPPED SUPPORT OF THIS BOX IN FAVOR OF THEIR NEW PAID SERVICE. THEY HAVE PROMISED FIXES FOR MONTHS WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. THIS BOX SHOULD HAVE BEEN PULLED OFF OF STORE SHELVES BY NOW. D-LINK SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO HAVE...

The Navi-X repository, and it's not even developed by Boxee

Laggy, virtually no support from Boxee, don't even think of pressing a remote button while it's working because it will crash

No more support?????

 

This is my second Boxee box, Ive had 1 for about a year and love it. This "new" box I got from Newegg almost seems like its a reman product.

Great box when set up properly ; lots of features ; plays anything

No more support as of Oct 2012. 1 more update then this thing is going into service mode
