I had a similar head crash on the unit that I purchased from Amazon March 15, 2006. It crashed in early October (7 months after receiving it) and when I called HP to find out what to do for warranty repairs, they said they had no agreement with Amazon...

I bought this desktop in February, received and set it up March 2006. It has great features like being able to insert media devices on the FRONT of the PC, Lite-Scribe, etc., however, it crashed - either motherboard or hard drive - just five months...
