Died at 14 months

I purchased this computer 14 months ago. I was pleased with the quality until about two months ago when it started freezing at random. Spoke with tech support and ran all the virus scans and even restored it to factory state, but the problem remains....

Hard drive death after 4 months

Hard drive death after 4 months

The title says it all. The hard drive completely died after four months of use. The drive would not spin up at all. It was a nice computer for the four months it worked. Unfortunately, instant and complete hard drive death detracts from the...

Be Wary of Using as a Media Center PC

The system operated great as long as I wasn't recording shows with Media Center. Since the machine is sold as a Media Center PC I installed two Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 pci express cards. The cards were designed for Vista so I thought it should work...

3rd motherboard and counting

First unit had the sound card fail after a week. After 2 hours on the phone with tech support they had me send it off to repair. The repaired unit worked about a week before it started shutting off randomly. Another 2 hours on the phone and another...

Dead On Arrival

Dead On Arrival

I am so disappointed in HP. I bought this set up because HP is a local company, and it was a very pretty machine. The fan made a noise like a jet engine on start up and blew. Because I am a writer and a gamer, this really put a damper on two weeks...

Excellent Computer

Excellent Computer

This is a very good machine! I'm a professional web designer/developer and get into the IT side of things as well, plus I do 3d designing for fun (using Cinema 4D). So whether your the average computer user or advanced programmer or designer, this PC...

That's a lot of computer for the price

I just finished getting everything tweaked the way I want it and I am mightily impressed with this machine. First the cons: 1) Video card is a little weak. Not recommended for hardcore gamers. However, see below for the video card pro. 2) No wireless...

Very Nice

This is a great deal for the price. Tons of power for the money and it's easily upgradable. My only concern with upgrading the video card is that this machine is so quiet I would not want to increase the decibel count significantly (more concerned...

1) Whisper Quiet ; 2) Blazing fast ; 3) An awful lot of hardware for the price ; 4) Easily upgradable ; 5) Video card is capable of pulling 20 fps running 1980x1050 with high quality settings on a 42" monitor in World of Warcraft. At ~720p resoution I...

1) No wireless networking ; 2) Video card just can't handle high-end games (i.e. Crysis) ; 3) Media reader does not fully enclose SD cards (part of the card hangs out). I'm a little concerned that snapping the card in half would be very easy to do ; 4)...

HP Pavilion M8530F(KT334AA) Phenom X4 9550(2.2GHz) 5GB DDR2 750GB NVIDIA GeForce 9300 GE Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

For you gamers I would upgrade the power supply and video card.

As always I am very pleased with Newegg ; I was very concerned that my applications wouldn't run on Vista x64. I had XP ready but that was not necessary. Every application installed without incident

If you have an older printer you are out of luck. No drivers available
