A fine and capable Freeview+ DVR that ticks all the standard-def boxes and produces a very fine on-screen image.

As a standard definition Freeview recorder, the HV250 is hard to fault. It's well made, attractive, easy to use and does everything you would want it to do and we can see the three HDMI ports coming in very handy. Not the cheapest of devices though and...

Size, looks,quality ( I also have a similar much more expensive product from Humax to compare it to)

none but picture and sound quality has been judged on a 22"TV

Good little box - good value for money

Minor points but annoying. The programme guide 1) only shows 1.5 hours a page 2) does not show channel numbers - only names 3) does not show start/finish times unless you push info button Remote control badly designed 1) shaped back means it rocks...
