Sling Media SlingCatcher

By Rory Reid (cnet.co.uk)

The SlingCatcher is an add-on for Sling Media's Slingbox that lets you stream the content of one TV to another around the world. An attractive piece of kit, the SlingCatcher has generally good picture quality and also supports video playback via USB, ...

Easy to set up ; video playback via USB

Cumbersome to carry around ; interface is sluggish over a network

Sling Media's SlingCatcher is a useful add-on to the Slingbox for anyone who wants to stream the content of one TV to another. It's not exactly an essential purchase though -- there's not much difference between using a SlingCatcher and using a laptop ...

It's not as stylish as the Slingbox Solo, but Sling Media has certainly...

SlingMedia SlingCatcher digital multimedia receiver

By Stuart Miles (pocket-lint.com)

The best way to watch your television on another set?

Lets you watch your Slingbox on the TV, allows you to connect USB drives to watch movies, easy to set-up and install

We struggled with the My Media element, HD streaming not supported

The Slingbox is a great piece of kit, but having to sit in front of your PC, while useful for work, is a bit geeky when if comes to home viewing. The SlingCatcher changes all this giving you that TV experience once again

I'm in love!

By Fe-Fi-Fo-Fum (newegg.com)

Does not record, pause or fast forward unless you have this feature on the remote DISH network box, I would love to see this feature on the SlingCatcher via USB.

I travel a lot - living overseas quite a bit. I have a superb picture quality at 1.5Mb/s to 1.8 Mb/s coming from a DISH Network receiver through a 2nd Gen SlingBox Pro using component video @640x480 resolution. I am truly amazed at the picture quality and...

Unlike the SlingBox software, the program guide is not built in so you are reliant on using the slower guide on the remote DISH network box.

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE

By N/A (newegg.com)

I ended up looking at other similar products and found out about Network Media Tanks, look into the HDX1000, EHP 606, and Kaifa EP6000B. They all run an embedded linux and work really well for playing off of a network, external etc. while satisfying most...

It looked nice, and the interface was nice I guess? Don't judge a book by it's cover

The interface is nice but there is such bad functionality that it just completely cancels out any form of pleasure with this product. It won't load off the network like other media tanks, you have to install software that is proprietary to windows(I use l...

Great Product

By JJ0001 (bestbuy.com)

"The Sling Catcher worked better than I expected. I thought there would be a significant loss of resolution on the big screen but it held up well. The ability to project the entire desktop of just selected portions is nice. Price has dropped to $199 which...
