Worked as soon as I plugged it in, Read my CF/SD/Memory Pro Duo(With Adapter). Definitely worth the money. Can't speak to the longevity of the device but if this is anything to go by I'm a happy shopper.

It does what it promises. For some cards it's nice and easy - for others you need to place them correctly. Overall, it's a very useful device that I use over and over, due to having purchased devices with every bl00dy combination of media.
