Rosewill RCR-AK-IM5002

As many others have said, Rosewill sells a lot of decent cheap components and I've bought many of them. But when you let "cheap" dictate your purchase, we all get what we pay for..and very much deserve it.

Everything you could possibly want and need to replace the obsolete floppy

I bought two of these when on sale back in Novemeber of last year and stuck them on my shelf for future use. I installed one in a system I was building a week ago and confirmed by trying on a test motherboard that it is DOA. I can now see I've become...

Rosewill Not So Good for Card Readers

Like I said, Rosewill makes a good case -- has some Tom's Hardware picks, even. I trusted the brand for that reason, but I regret it. There are not many good internal card readers out there, but do yourself a favor and avoid Rosewill.

This thing has slots for all major cards, three USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port, and even a DC 5.0v, should you need one. It's also one of the only card readers I could find that had three USB 2.0 ports, microSD support, and a reasonable price

One of the USB ports came out after normal (and quite delicate) use. Thing stopped working a couple of weeks ago, completely out of the blue. My computer's acting like I don't even have it installed, and the blue LED is no longer coming on. Finally...

Works Wonderfully

I have not used the eSATA feature but it is a great accessory to add to a case.

USB 3.0 + multiple card readers. Works great

SD cards don't fit very snug and I have to be cautious inserting cards as it is possible to misalign an SD card in the reader

Works Well

Been working fine for almost 2 years now

When I had it installed on my previous system, it would always wake the computer up from standby. I ended up disconnecting after trying various settings within Windows and the BIOS. When I got a new system/motherboard and I installed this, the problem...

Died after a year

I have now had two of these die on me, but different Rosewill models. This one died after about a year. The CF reader was initially flaky, where I had to reboot computer to get the card to be recognized. Then one morning, the computer is acting wonky....

Nice features, lots of slots; 3-USB ports; powered hub

What do you do with power-cable on front? eSATA? Compact Flash flaky; Died in about a year

Impressed

Simple install over all just enough room to get it done with ease. I managed to do some nice wire routing. Slaped a am3 quad core in it was worried about it getting hot runs cold. very cold. I replaced the stock fan with a blue Rosewill fan. I dont...

3.5 bay ext mounting yeah could not mount a rosewill 3.5 all in one card reader for it. screw holes dont line up

Some of it worked

Perhaps I just don't know my own strength. I was really hoping Rosewill would deliver high quality like they did with my case.

I gave it 2 eggs because 2/3 of the USB ports worked and it has a lot of theoretical functionality

One of the USB ports didn't work and when I inserted a CF card into the reader, it snapped off inside. I was surprised because I didn't think I had applied much pressure and I had checked to make sure I was inserting it properly and the pins were aligned

Good Chance of Failure!!!

I gave 2 eggs instead of just one because of how good newegg is at handling RMA"s.

Supports lots of Formats

Worked for about 5 minutes and then failed. Stopped reading cards after 5 minutes. Sent Back second one worked for about a day and same thing. Put old reader back in. spent $20 dollars on the drive. Cost $10 to send back. not worth sendind another $10...

Works great, saves time

The device is very light and the materials used are thin, so I question the durability of the device, but for the price, I think its a great unit. I didn't have to trouble shoot anything, I just installed the unit into the tower and turned it on - it...

Reads anything you can throw at it ; Add's 3 USB and eSATA to the front of a case ; Inexpensive convenience ; SATA power connection provides plenty of power

Uses 5 drive letters, but thankfully they just dissappear when the unit is installed and one doesn't have to sort through them all when searching installed devices one one's computer
