CANON DM50 SHOTGUN STEREO MICROPHONE

This is a must addition for anyone with a Canon Camcorder who wants really clear sound. It''s a directional mike and it is very convenient and easy to use an attach. The sound quality is exellent.

Easy to attach to the camcorder. Records hiqh quality sound with three options: Very narrow, narrow, and wide

An imporvement over integrated lics, but not always much.

Got this around the hoidays to help me better use my Canon HG-10 (whose video and options I love, but whose audio was inconsnstent). The DM-50 helps a lot towards ths end, especially in stereo mode 1 (the one that's semi-directional facing forward)....

Different modes, power through the video camera, decent stereo sound production.

Boom mic han feel incosistent, is nearly as large as the camcorders it'll be used on, can't simultaneously use with VFL-1 light.

CANON DM-50: Virtually essential.

Why spend any money on an external microphone if your camcorder already comes with a stereo mic built in? In fact, most are so sensitive now that it may seem like a really tough expense to justify. For most home users that especially true in light of...

Good separation of camcorder noise from recorded audio, powerful shotgun mode

Floating assembly is less confidence inspiring, still picks up some body noise from

Excellent choice for high quality video

This microphone works extremely well in providing high quality audio capture. By using this microphone, your video will not include ambient noise from your camcorder. I found the shotgun setting to isolate only the sounds from in front of the...

poor quality sound

I purchased this external mic in hopes that it would improve the sensitivity and clarity of the built in mic. It does not. I have made multiple tests and the sound metering is the same as the internal mic as is the sound quality and sensitivity. It is...

None, I can not think of one reason why one would purchase this microphone

Canon DM-50 Microphone

This microphone is a wonderful compact addition to your video camera's accessory bag. The sound quality is very good, but then again so is the internal microphone on my Optura Xi; there is a noticeable difference though. Comes with windshields and...

Size, sound quality, ease of use.

None noted yet. Sound volume drops signicicantly when this unit is in use with widshields installed.

Canon DM-50 Directional Stereo Microphone for camcorder

I was looking for a Canon camcorder microphone which would get rid of all the motor noise you normally hear from camcorders. This one is the only shotgun mic I've ever owned. It does improve the sound noticeably and picks up sound much further away.

Removes most motor and tape noises (not all), convenient hot shoe. Better than built-in

Stands 3 inches above camcorder requiring on and off interchanges. Gaudy appearance

Reliable, High-Quality, Portable Canon Mic

I love this mic. In preparing for a documentary that I am filming by myself, I was looking for an easy-to-use, high-quality mic that I could attach to my Canon HV20 and still get good audio. I was thinking about models from Sennheiser and Audio...

high quality audio, plugs into hot shoe so no cords, small and portable, three different pick-up settings (shotgun and stereo 1 and 2), comes with foam case
