Avoid KitchenAid Appliances, low prices not worth it.

I built a nice house in 2003 KitchenAid appliances throughout. I bought primarily on price and what I thought was a good reputation. The appliances: Double Oven, Trash Compactor, built in Microwave, built in Refer, Dish washer, etc. .The only items...

At the time I liked the price relative to GE and some of the other brands. I also thought KitchenAid had a great name. Boy was I wrong

Quality.. Quality... Quality.. I built a nice house in 2003. I used KitchenAID appliances throughout, with two exceptions, both GE. I've had to repair or replace every KitchenAid appliance in the house. The GE products are still running strong

Lasted Less Than 2 Months

Recently, we changed all of our kitchen appliances over to Stainless, about $4,000. We have had the compactor for about 6 weeks. My wife noticed immediately that the on/off switch (for the pressure ram) seems to be reversed, not a big problem. As of...

Trash be gone!!!!

This compactor is like a bottomless pit. I used to empty my trash once a day...now it is once a week. I've switched to a smaller roadside trash can which is cheaper, so I not only save money, but lessen my footprint on the planet.
