Bad

Sharp's build quality isn't what it used to be and it has joined an array of companies that make products that don't last. I will not buy another microwave from any manufacturer without taking out an extended warranty.

I bought one of these 4 years ago to replace an ageing Sharp Convection microwave that had served me well for 15 years. I bought Sharp because of my previous good experience with the Brand. The R40J was used daily and was pretty good all round - until...

Death was sudden and without warning. It stopped heating but the turntble continued to turn and the oven made the usual sounds. Fortunately I had bought an extended warranty from Harvey Norman and their insurers decided to replace rather than repair.

Terrible

Would not buy a Sharp digital display microwave ever! Had to many issues with display. Had repaired twice as did friends microwave who was the exact model as mine. Was repaired twice and then broke again.

Display repaired under warranty and then broke again after warranty was finished up. Friend bought exact microwave as myself and same thing happened to him.Common issue with Sharp Displays
