Skype 3.0 (iOS)

Video calling between iOS devices and desktops. Wi-Fi calls sound excellent. Well-designed interface. Can create an account, add credits, and SMS or IM contacts right from the app

Video calls can take a while to connect. Picture quality and frame rate on video calls leaves much to be desired

Skype 3.0 iPhone App Review

Looking into the new features of Skype 3.0. Find out whether Skype video calling on iPhone is a pretty good alternative to free Skype-to-Skype video calls. Read on to find out whether Skype 3.0 delivers high quality video calls over 3G.

With a slight shortcoming on video quality, which is not really Skype's fault, Skype 3.0 is definitely the best option for video calling on iPhone right now. The fact that Skype-to-Skype video calls are free and with decent video quality and good audio...

Skype integration, compact size and design, ease of use, decent phone features

Build quality, battery life

At this asking price, the Skypephone is certainly great value for money. It's not perfect but the Skype integration is superb and easy to use and the rest of the phone works well.

Skype 3 for iPhone review

Skype 3 offers an easier, cleverer way for iPhone users to make video calls over Wi-Fi and 3G.

Skype 3 for iPhone is an impressive update. Making a call over 3G is great to have as an option, but can result in lower call quality. A one-minute video call can also use 2 to 3MB of your monthly data allowance, so you may not want to make video calls...

3 Skypephone

Yup, free Skype calls routed through the 3 network, to and from a candybar mobile phone. Sounds good, but is it?

There needs to be at least £10 of credit in the phone if you buy it on Pay As You Go. It costs £49.99 on PAYG, (it is free on pay monthly contracts). So you are looking at a £60 initial outlay. Calls to landlines and mobiles are 12p a minute and texts...

3 Skypephone

Whether you plan to use Skype or not, the Skypephone is a full-featured budget priced phone and value for money if you don't break it first.

Free Skype-to-Skype calls ; Good standard phone features ; Doubles as a broadband modem

Poor build quality ; Short battery life

The phone and some components seem delicate and we seriously hope 3 Mobile plans to stock replacement back-plates in stores as, with no lock or latch, these parts in particular are bound to go missing. All things considered, careful and dexterous...

On-the-go VoIP with Three's Skypephone

The Nokia 5610 XpressMusic does suffer from a few shortfalls, but hey, this is a mid range handset with a solid feature list. This includes a great 240 x 320, 16 million colour screen and a comprehensive suite of connectivity options (Bluetooth 2.0 and...
