Samurai Warriors 2 - ps2

 

You can think of Samurai Warriors 2 almost as a playable history lesson based on the Sengoku period from Japan. Learning history, although it may not exactly be perfectly accurate, hasn't been this fun for a long time

Why is everything “Extreme” these days, and why is it spelled wrong? Either way, Samurai Warriors Xtreme Legends is a decent title for the gamer looking to find a bridge between the action and strategy genres.

Graphics ; More of what made the original Samurai Warriors fun ; New modes

May put some players off that haven't played the original ; As a stand-alone title it's a little skimpy ; Audio gets annoying after a while

Best when combined with the original Samurai Warriors.

Fans of the original game and the superior Dynasty Warriors series may find something to enjoy here, but everyone else will be hard pressed to do the same.

Sugoroku is a nice distraction

Dated presentation in all areas ; Boring ; Sorely lacking in variety

Ultimately Samurai Warriors 2 is one of the dullest and most repetitive games I've played in recent memory. It feels more like a chore then a game, and the lack of attention to many aspects of its design pale in comparison to its greatest omission......
