Its cheap and it works, but not so well with Linux


I bought 13 of these modems because they were dirt cheap and advertised as working with Linux. I refurb donated computers and give them out to the underprivileged in our community, so cheap is crucial for me.

Cheap, probably works well with Windows

works with few Linux distros and is a mortal pain to install with those

This is a V.92 56K Fax modem that is built with a Agere (Lucent) chipset. It offers reliability and stable connections that allow user to access the Internet painlessly. With the Faxtalk software, users can also use this device as a fax machine, and the Modem Net On Hold feature allows users who have call waiting to pick up phone calls without getting disconnected from the Internet. With simply several clicks, the user will be able to resume the connection after finishing the phone call.
