It works.

Just plug it in, connect the cable line and the ethernet cable. Then call your internet provider and read them the number on the bottom of the modem. This modem is good enough for 99% of cable internet customers out there.

It runs nice and cool, and should last you a very long time. You don't have to pay Time Warner/Comcast those annoying cable rental fees anymore. This is one of the lower cost cable modems available

Supposedly not fast enough to handle the highest cable internet tiers out there

MOTOROLA SB5101U

Got this modem rather then paying my provider (TW) a monthly fee for one. It took over any hour on the phone with them to set up (there fault, not the modems), but once set up this device has been worry free and reliable.

No problems in over a year of ownership, offers speeds that meet gaming/streaming demands without any problems. Great Price

Faster modems existing depending on your needs

Works as expected

Works, no issues to isp speed 20/2 (when they deliver it)

Screw time warner for making me buy this instead of 'renting' theirs

Does not work with Windows 8

Small, inexpensive

After contacting Motorola, I learned that this unit is not compatible with Windows 8 when using the USB connection. The description says it is compatible with Windows, but Windows 8 is the current version and the SB5101U is not compatible ; The earlier...

Great purchase for the price

So far, so good. The intallation was very simple and the modem has been working perfectly. It has replaced the provided modem given to me by Comcast (Xfinity) which they were charging me $7.00 each month to use. Their model was old and out-dated, so...

It Just Works

TWC was great to work with swapping over to my cable modem. My TWC SURFboard was 10 yrs old when I pulled it out to send back to TWC. Hope to get the same from this one.

No fuss setup. Plugged it in, called my ISP and they completed the change. Saves me from paying them 5.00 /mo for a 10 yr old cable modem
