Dell UltraSharp U2713HM

Dell's UltraSharp series of monitors have snagged quite a few Editors' Choice awards over the years, and with good reason; models such as the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP , Dell UltraSharp U2711 , and Dell UltraSharp U3011 have all earned high marks for...

Outstanding color quality. Very good light grayscale performance. Features galore

So-so dark grayscale performance. No auto-rotate feature

The Dell UltraSharp U2713HM is a 27-inch IPS monitor that's packed with features.

Dell UltraSharp U2713HM review: The best overall monitor

The Dell UltraSharp U2713HM isn't the absolute best monitor performer. And at $799, it's not the cheapest monitor, either. Yet thanks to its price-to-price and features-to-performance ratio, it's the best overall monitor currently available.

The Dell UltraSharp U2713HM delivers excellent performance across the board, includes a huge array of customization options, and has great ergonomic support. USB 3.0 is a nice bonus.

There's a slight green tint problem when watching movies, and $800 is a lot to pay for a monitor, no matter what's included.

The Dell UltraSharp U2713HM is an excellent monitor that will satisfy both the performance snob and the features diva alike.

Dell U2713HM - Unbeatable performance out of the box

When you look at the 27” panels on the market today, they virtually all use a panel from LG. Samsung has their own PLS panels, but otherwise almost everyone with a 2560x1440 panel is using one from LG, with either LED or CCFL backlighting. When the...

With the U2713HM monitor, Dell hasn’t broken any new ground. Instead, they have taken the same panel that many vendors are using and presented it in a well thought out and constructed package that is a pleasure to use. From the packaging to the stand...

Dell UltraSharp U2713HM

A flexible, highly usable monitor with no target buyer.

The skinny is that it certainly feels like Dell is asking for $470 in exchange for three more inches of screen space a USB hub, based on what they ask for the U2412M. Granted, the array of 3.0 upstream and downstream USB ports promises users the...

A great 27-Inch LCD monitor

The Dell UltraSharp U2713HM is the best 27-inch monitor on the market.

The Dell UltraSharp takes some of the best things from a premium 27″ monitor, like a great display, highly-adjustable stand and enough ports and inputs for almost any device you’d want to hook it up to, and manages to put them in a cheaper package...

Dell UltraSharp U2713HM review

Simply unpacking the U2713HM gives the impression that Dell considers this display to be a high-end product, especially in comparison with the company's Dell S2740L.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced, high-resolution 27-inch display, and if you prefer antiglare screens, the Dell U2713HM is a great choice. It excelled in our on-screen performance tests, and it offers a wide variety of connection options and...

Dell UltraSharp U2713HM

Dell's UltraSharp U2713HM does come in cheaper than Samsung's S27A850T, and offers USB 3.0 as well. It is quite power hungry, though, and a faint "criss-cross" pattern on light screens may irritate some. Ultimately, its biggest competitor is the...

USB 3.0 ports ; Brings in IPS 27-inch at a cheaper price point ; Straight-up 8-bit panel makes much more sense for non colour-critical environments ; Stand supports vertical rotate ; Less aggressive

Slight banding in gradients ; Faint "criss-cross" pattern visible on light screens will annoy some ; No HDMI processing ; USB 3.0 ports do take a speed hit compared to direct connection ; High power consumption, even in standby

Dell U2713HM monitor

Delivering exceptional picture quality while shunning multi- media frills, this Dell is designed to sit at the heart of a work- station which places an emphasis on image quality.

Excellent image; USB 3.0 hub

This Dell features a bright 350 cm/d2 LED-backlit IPS (In Plane Switching) panel which delivers exceptional contrast and colour accuracy. The lack of built-in speakers might deter some people, but those who care about image quality should lean towards...

If you abhor high- gloss displays and don’t care about Thunderbolt, this Dell makes a respectable alternative to Apple’s shiny and expensive Thunderbolt monitor.

Dell UltraSharp U2713HM monitor

Dell's $799 UltraSharp U2713HM is a 27in LCD that uses an in-plane switching (IPS) panel and LED backlights to provide a high-end, 2560-by-1440-resolution display that compares favourably with Apple's offerings but costs considerably less. Unlike...

Excellent viewing angle; displays smooth gradients; flexible ergonomic design; lots of connection options
