Asus VS278Q review

Limited native res and old-school panel tech don't make for a good recipe

Decent colour and contrast ; 1ms response time

Bad case of the fizzies ; Tilt-only stand and lack of DVI input

Decent monitors for a cheap gamer build.

I now have three of these monitors the last one I ordered from newegg was a refurbished one and it turned out to havew better picture out of the box than the two that I had bought brand new, there was nothing wrong with it at all from what I can tell.

These are great monitors when you get the picture right. Lots of connection options, very small loss of picture quality (if any) when viewed from angles. fast monitor with gamers in mind.

The reason I gave it 3 eggs is because these monitors are hit or miss. Sometimes you get one that just looks a lot more washed out than others, or has bad contrast compared to the others, and it's a lot harder to get them to look right than you would...

Nasty experience

Bright, big monitor

sporadic connections through any digital input port. Behaves this way for both my laptop (as a debugging step), and the build I bought it for. No sound from HDMI connection when it is established.

Nice screen for the price. but screen has a hot spot on the right border

Large screen for the price. I got this for about $200 after discounts and rebate.

My display has a very hot back light on the far right of the screen. Its as if the display is back light by florescent lights on the edge of the LCD but the box specifically says it uses LED to back light. These are typically behind the panel but this...

competitive play

For a 27inch "lag-less" tv i am very happy that i got this thing. Bigger than most other competitive tv's and still affordable

It does look nice with the picture presets, and of course you can edit each preset individually; each preset can also be edited and saved for later, and of course reset a single preset to the way it was. Good for fighting games if you are the type that...

There is some spotty parts on the display; however its only noticeable when you are on a black screen(like loading screens) No Tv controller and no way to connect one either. The buttons get hard to see, and even frustrating to press sitting there and...

Asus refused to honor a rebate

The monitor itself is fine, though it requires some work to get the colors right.

I bought the monitor with a mail-in rebate offer. I happened to lose the box before I could send in the rebate, and before I could get the UPC number from it. Asus told me they refuse to give me the rebate without that, even though I have the monitor...

Awesome display

Using this on a windows 10 machine with 2 older monitors as well. Have had no issues at all.

Has an amazing picture with some minor tweaking of the default settings. Sound is actually surprisingly decent for a flat screen.

None at the moment.
