Acer AL2423WDR Review

Acer's 24-inch, $699 wide-screen AL2423Wdr excelled in many of our text and graphics tests. The model boasts one of the best combinations of low price and good performance that we've seen in this monitor category lately. Microsoft Office documents were...

Appealing low price Good screen quality

Very weak sound from speakers Few features

Acer includes Portrait Displays's PivotPro software (a $40 value when purchased separately) to help you manage the pivoting feature of the monitor. Installing this software enables you to rotate your operating system's desktop to match the screen's...

Avoid this product

I was able to unstick the pixels myself using a free software tool, but could not set the resolution properly because of the incorrect firmware. Finally, they held my credit card number hostage (pending the return) for the full retail price of a new...

Excellent resolution, high contrast ratio, versatile stand adjustments, no dead or stuck pixels

Poor firmware causes numerous, nagging problems such as the inability to turn power on after a short time off (must wait 15-30 minutes before monitor will "come back to life"), also silly error messages that don't go away, etc ; I finally returned it...

Great monitor when it works

Several months after the purchase, I started getting a blinking "no signal" sign in the middle of screen and the monitor goes blank intermittingly. This happens throughout the day every few minutes. I sent the monitor to Acer's Texas service center...

Brilliant image & crisp text when it works. The best monitor I have owned when it sometimes works

This monitor doesn't work. I want my money back. Read below

P-mva panels suck

It is about time someone stood up and wrote an honest review. For some reason people don't see this problem but it is there. These companies lie to you saying they have a 1000:1 cntrast ratio. When in fact they have 1000:1 on the right side of the...

The veiwing angle on these 24" monitors is unexeptable. I've owned many 24" monitors and every single one was brighter on the left side

Solid LCD

Good display. Would have liked a warning about the stuck pixel issue. If you like big screens then this is totally worth it despite its few short comings.

For an LCD this thing does a good job. Super bright, excellent color, and pretty sharp. I upgraded from my Dell 20.1 widescreen and must say this one visually is better. The display is sharper, far brighter, and produces more correct colors. Even at...

Mine had a few thousand stuck pixels that were blue when I plugged it in. Let is sit for about 3 hours and they will go away. Pretty irriating though and makes me question the build quality. As some report, the Acer does have a slightly greater lag...

Great Monitor

Great monitor. I use it for gaming and work and I love it, especially a bargain when I was considering spending around $300 more for one of the more well known brands. Just thought I should pass along that I found a solution (at least one that works...

Great Contrast/Image ; Good Refresh

No signal annoyance - but found a solution that works for me

i would say price because im poor, but look at the price of the other lcd's with 1920x1200 res

P-MVA Panel

P-MVA Panel. True 8-bit color. Great price. Fast refresh, no noticable ghosting

P-MVA aren't very color accurate and tend to have problems with gamma. This isn't a monitor for a graphics professional

no bleeding, very bright so u could turn it down, enriched color. massive screen real simple. very fast, and i never noticed that a screen takes long to run. when i start up windows, my screen losing image for a second to start up crossfire. my old 19"...

have you tried finding a wallpaper to reach the 1920 by 1200 settings, so far i have been met by failure.but thats not a problem with the monitor, its a problem with the people that makes the varous wallpapers ; one single problem, the dvi- sub wire...

Not a GAMER!! Great monitor for general use

The experience with newegg has been outstanding. The reviews, both here and in the newegg ATI 9250 PCI Graphics Card thread proved decisive for me. I placed my order for both this and the ATI card through this site on Friday Dec 8 and had them early...
