Acer K272HUL

The Acer K272HUL is a modestly priced 27-inch, In-Plane Switching (IPS) monitor that delivers accurate colors, generally good gray-scale performance, and a 2,560-by-1,440-resolution image.

Reasonably priced. Solid performance. High-resolution panel

Tilt-only stand. Weak speakers. Plain design

If you've been itching to move up to a big-screen, Wide Quad High-Definition (WQHD) monitor, but have been holding off until prices dropped below the $500 mark, your wait is over. The Acer K272HUL is a 27-inch, In-Plane Switching (IPS)-based display...

Acer K272HUL review

4K is the big buzzword in the monitor business these days, but its debut means more than the addition of yet another resolution for buyers to think about when weighing their options. Going 4K also forces panels that were once the king of the hill...

Inexpensive ; Plenty of video inputs ; Gamma 2.2 out of the box ; Bright backlight

Unimpressive gamut out-of-the-box ; Best color accuracy achieved at low brightness settings ; Stand and bezel feel cheap

The $450 Acer K272HUL offers a 2560x1440 resolution, a 27-inch panel and decent image quality;not bad for the price.

Acer K272HUL 27" WQHD LED Display Preview

Preview: The 27" Acer K272HUL has a better than 1080p WQHD resolution, 16:9 aspect, two HDMI inputs, and integrated speakers making it perfect for spreadsheets, games, or movies.

We like seeing displays that can be used in your bedroom or your office. The 27" Acer K272HUL has a better-than-1080p WQHD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, two HDMI inputs, and integrated speakers. While its intended use is certainly at a desk, the...

Acer K272HUL

It's amazing how little you need to spend to get a good-quality monitor these days, and the Acer K272HUL is a prime example. Squeezing in a 27in, 2,560 x 1,440 panel for less than £400 is quite a feat.

Acer’s affordable K272HUL skimps on the features but serves up fine image quality for the money

Mostly good news

Requires tomfoolery to work properly with MacOS X - for some reason, is recognized as a television rather than a monitor, which causes text to look grainy because it uses a crippled YCbCr color space instead of a full RGB color space. This can be fixed...

Display resolution, brightness, color, etc. very good ; No bad pixels or excessive light bleed (accepting that there will be some on inexpensive IPS panels)

Very light duty stand

Great for work!

I use this at work and it has been wonderful. A godsend for long sessions in Excel, and perfect for side-by-side windows such as Outlook and, say, a WEBEX teleconference call. Big productivity gains, even moving up from 24" 1920x1200 and 23" 2048x1182...

Spacious display; good input selection; very light & thin; modern appearance

Good Monitor, very happy.

It's a great monitor and I'm really happy I bought it. works well for games and movies. Haven't tried any picture editing on it yet. Got processed/delivered fast, as always newegg is great.

Very Bright (but adjustable) ; Good Resolution ; Good Colors ; Lots of inputs ; Has good refresh rate (No problems playing fast paced games.)

Had the power button not work once (second time i turned it on), a powercycle fixed it been working great ever since ; No other issues yet

Good deal on 1440p monitor

Got this to finally step up to 1440p. I use HDMI audio, and have a switch that splits out the audio. I had to upgrade that switch to one that handles 1440p inputs, adding to my overall cost. The shipping package for this is pretty skimpy, so I wonder...

Multiple input options. Price (got it for $300 - $50 rebate). Decent brightness & color. DisplayPort In & Out, for chaining displays. No dead pixels! No power brick

Lack of monitor height adjustment. Limited menu controls. Speakers are useless. No HDMI cable included

Backlight bleeding is a issue.

Be sure to use a DVI-D cable, not a DVI-I cable. I swapped out a old 1080p monitor with this one, but retained the old DVI-I cable. This caused the resolution to be displayed incorrectly and fonts became unreadable. Using the DVI-D cable that came in...

2560x1440 is plenty sharp enough for most situations. I think it's the happy medium between 1080p and 4k monitors for gaming. The image is clean and crisp, with no dead pixels detected. At $300, it's a good deal. I would be hesitant to spend $500 on...

Two words, backlight bleeding. This screen is horrible at displaying dark scenes because of the chaotic, asymmetrical backlight bleeding. All these LED screens have it, but it is really noticeable on this model. If you are into darker desktop themes,...

Good monitor, bad company

It's a great monitor. But only buy it if you're okay with the possibility of having to send it back for a month for an RMA.

Lots of inputs (DVI, DP, HDMI), great image quality, reasonable bezel

Minor nit: they are very slow to turn on. It takes a good 5 seconds for them to warm up, whereas the monitors I replaced took only 2 seconds ; Major complaint: I bought three, and one ended up with a horizontal line through the display within the first...
