A touchscreen on your desktop: 3 new displays

Getting Windows 8? You're going to want a touchscreen. We look at three of the latest monitors from Acer, Dell and ViewSonic.

Inexpensive, traditional upright design, bright screen

Screen recessed from bezel, wobbles when touched, no HDMI ports, two-finger touch, brightness not uniform

If all you care about is getting an inexpensive touchscreen monitor, the ViewSonic TD2220 does the basics well at a great price. But it has an annoyingly recessed screen, wobbles too much and only responds to two fingers at a time.

For a touchscreen tilting is key. I love the stand

This monitor is great. The point of needing a touchscreen is that you will be reaching to the screen and will start pushing. The fact that this stand has such a customizable tilt makes it work great no matter what your angle of comfort will be. At any...

Great product - nice to have a large touch screen

The setup was very simple. I only had to plug in one data cable and the power cord at setup (plug in cables - no software to deal with). The touch screen became disabled once but was easy to fix with reseating the data cable. Has worked with no problem...

Great touch screen monitor

I am not used to a touch screen monitor. I just point to something on the monitor and the computer tries to react to that point of contact. That is what I wanted the monitor to do but it is going to take time to adjust to its function. Poor built in...
