AOC 212Va-1 review: AOC 212Va-1

AOC 212Va-1

Low price; decent image quality; movies and games look good; integrated speakers aren't bad; HDCP support; neat and trim design.

Can't match competing LCDs on brightness; struggled to produce colors near peak white; evident backlight bleed, even under normal conditions; no USB ports.

The AOC 212Va-1 LCD monitor sticks to the basics and does it well, delivering a better-than-average but not terribly bright image at a low price, but sacrificing extras that you may not need anyway along the way.

AOC 212VA

It was just a few short years ago that a 19in LCD monitor would set you back $500 or more. These days however large, widescreen displays are a dime a ...

Low price, sharp picture, good contrast

Flickering issues particularly when running VGA, some colour errors

The AOC 212VA isn't at the top of the monitor pack, but considering the price tag, this 22in display is good value for money for those looking to make the leap into the widescreen PC display market.

Great Monitor

Overall a good monitor if you need something to play games on. The response time is great.

Goo Monitor, Has all the features of some of the more expensive ones. Great price

Speakers are a little cheap, not that it matters to me

AOC 212Va-1 Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 Built-in Speakers

22" seems to be a great size for me. Similar height as a 19" 4:3 lcd, but with extra width. Anything bigger just seems too big for a home/office desk enviroment.

Cheap for a 22". Clean design and solid construction (but see no tilt below). Other than dead pixel, overall picture quality was good

One dead pixel at dead center, which is too distracting. Returned it to a local B&M store. No tilt, but that may be OK depending on user; one less thing to break. Internal speakers were poor, but somewhat expected
