ASUS MB168B+

The ASUS MB168B+ USB 3.0 monitor is light and offers a sharp 1080p image for workers on the go.

Sharp 1080p resolution; Lightweight; Strong performance; Mac and USB 2 compatible

Bundled USB cable too short comes loose; Sometimes requires two USB ports

The ASUS MB168B+ is the best portable monitor we've used, offering speedy performance, accurate color and plenty of screen real estate in a lightweight, portable package. Though other monitors such as the $129 AOC e1659fwu are less expensive, the $199...

ASUS MB168B+ portable USB powered 15.6″ LED monitor

Are you a mobile worker that works on the notebook and prefer to view your presentations or spreadsheets on a larger screen. Is that possible at all unless you are glued to the office desk with a LCD monitor with HDMI input. Oh! Wait a minute, if you...

Asus MB168B+ review

USB monitors such as the Asus MB168B+ haven't, up to now, had the best of times. Generally saddled with poor resolutions, and lacking the hardware required to do justice to smooth movies and fast-changing games, they've remained niche products. That's...

The MB168B+ does have some of the limitations of TN panels, but it has virtually none of those associated with USB screens. It keeps the ease of setup, but adds fantastic 1080p support, and hardware that can make a superbly smooth job of HD movies, and...

Hands on: Asus MB168B+ portable monitor

Asus is not the first one out with a portable monitor - Toshiba had one two years ago - but the Taiwanese manufacturer's MB168B+ slim screen is surely one of the smartest and most practical. Very light at just 800 grams and conveniently powered by a...

Great for a road warrior.

Had this for about a year and have used it exclusively to have a dual monitor setup/1080p monitor with my Lenovo T430 while on the road. Its a necessity if you have to code html and your laptop has a 1368x768 resolution. I travel by air about once a...

Very portable

Somewhat fragile Limited brightness range.

Extra Pixels

The case / stand is a little less than ideal, there are only 3 angles possible and the case takes up a good amount of desk space. Small price for the extra screen, my productivity is much better with dual monitors to work on.

No simpler way to add an extra screen with good resolution for a portable setup.

Draws too much power for a Surface Pro 3, and possibly other thin and light utrabooks. The workaround for this is to use a USB3 splitter cable with a second type A plug for a power source. Carry a small battery jump charger typically used to boost your...

Good for a Windows laptop, nice image quality

I'm concerned about it's overall longevity, the connector that attaches to the monitor is very flimsy and doesn't stay attached unless you are very careful with it, still I need a second monitor in the field and this is the only one that appears to be...

Works good with my Windows 7 laptop (HP Elite Book 8560w and 8530w)

Driver is tempermental to install, and won't work on my Linux (OpenSuSE) laptops. Linux and MAC support is terrible/non-existent unless you want to play around for hours with some of the tips you find on UBUNTU sites, not worth the bother, please just...

Great Screen

I'd recommend this screen. It's my first portable screen, I can't compare it to cheaper alternatives, but because my job takes me around the city, it's useful to have this screen everywhere I go. I don't know what I'd do without it at this point.

The screen has great color, a good refresh rate for work type activities (I haven't tried using it for gaming). Also has functionality that allows you to view it both width or length wise, similar to a smartphone, and is far more useful than I thought...

The stand, that also doubles as a case, is very large and requires a lot of space to set up. Maybe not ideal for a screen that is meant for travelers
