Asus MX299Q

The Asus MX299Q is a sharp-looking, 29-inch, ultra-wide monitor that delivers good overall image performance and powerful audio output.

Good audio output. Solid gray-scale and viewing-angle performance. Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL)-compatible input

Middling color accuracy. Lacks USB ports. Finicky function buttons

Whether you're looking to replace your dual-monitor setup or just want more screen real estate, the Asus MX299Q ($469) offers a stylish solution at a reasonable price. This 29-inch, ultra-wide monitor boasts an Advanced High Performance In-Plane...

ASUS MX299Q Monitor Review

The panel does not make the monitor. As I saw in my last 21:9 monitor review, even if you have the exact same panel in two displays, a whole lot more makes the display good or bad. One might assume that all the 21:9 displays now hitting the market are...

After recently reviewing a pair of 21:9 displays I have some mixed feelings about the monitors overall. On the positive side, they seem to be excellent gaming displays. They have low lag, offer accurate colors, wide viewing angles, and a bigger...

Asus MX299Q review - Widescreen space that's ideal for multiple applications

An ultra-wide AH-IPS monitor that also offers stylish good looks

Stylish good looks, ultra-wide display, full sRGB coverage, excellent brightness, very good colour accuracy, largely uniform display except for one area, good price, wide range of inputs, Bang & Olufsen audio

Bottom right corner shows darkening and minor variation in brightness. Bottom third shows colour variation, on screen menus are fiddly

Not only does the Asus MX299Q offer the kind of widescreen space that’s ideal for multiple applications, the quality of the display itself is also surprisingly good. When you match that with a good built-in sound system and stylish looks, you have an...

Item arrived damaged

Raised a support case, but would advise anybody against ground shipping this product coast to coast.

...

Top right of the screen was cracked, flecks of the screen coming off. Had I known this product was going to be ground shipped from Industry, California to Ontario, Canada.. I would absolutely not have purchased it with ground shipping, or at all. The...

Great product and wonderful display

Yes, I'd buy it again.

The screen is beautiful. It's also, light, and easy to set up. I've had it for a year now and it's been trouble free and just as bright as the day I bought it. It might not be 4K; but, it's great nonetheless.

It's not 4K. It cost more when I bought it.

If only the base would attach...

I was extremely excited to get this in. I've delayed this purchase for a while, so I was happy to get this monitor delivered. Unfortunately, when I went to attach the base to the monitor it wasn't possible. The two connection points are metal with no...

Looked to be the perfect size screen for my workflow...

...but I was never able to attach the base to the computer.

Was great then...

I am not sure if I just got a "bad egg" but when the monitor was new it was working amazing; shortly after using it (less than 300 hours) it began to "act up." I purchased this monitor when it was still relatively new to the market and now I no longer...

Really big, nice viewing angle. The speakers are not bad if you have nothing else to use. Great color and picture quality.

Well I have owned this for a little over a year, and within the first 4 months of owing this monitor it started to burn the image(s) into the screen. If Im playing a game which has a stay in place bar (i.e health bar, action bar ect.) the image will...
