Asus MX299Q

The Asus MX299Q is a sharp-looking, 29-inch, ultra-wide monitor that delivers good overall image performance and powerful audio output.

Good audio output. Solid gray-scale and viewing-angle performance. Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL)-compatible input

Middling color accuracy. Lacks USB ports. Finicky function buttons

Whether you're looking to replace your dual-monitor setup or just want more screen real estate, the Asus MX299Q ($469) offers a stylish solution at a reasonable price. This 29-inch, ultra-wide monitor boasts an Advanced High Performance In-Plane...

ASUS MX299Q Monitor Review

The panel does not make the monitor. As I saw in my last 21:9 monitor review, even if you have the exact same panel in two displays, a whole lot more makes the display good or bad. One might assume that all the 21:9 displays now hitting the market are...

After recently reviewing a pair of 21:9 displays I have some mixed feelings about the monitors overall. On the positive side, they seem to be excellent gaming displays. They have low lag, offer accurate colors, wide viewing angles, and a bigger...

Asus MX299Q review - Widescreen space that's ideal for multiple applications

An ultra-wide AH-IPS monitor that also offers stylish good looks

Stylish good looks, ultra-wide display, full sRGB coverage, excellent brightness, very good colour accuracy, largely uniform display except for one area, good price, wide range of inputs, Bang & Olufsen audio

Bottom right corner shows darkening and minor variation in brightness. Bottom third shows colour variation, on screen menus are fiddly

Not only does the Asus MX299Q offer the kind of widescreen space that’s ideal for multiple applications, the quality of the display itself is also surprisingly good. When you match that with a good built-in sound system and stylish looks, you have an...

Good panel, poor case

ASUS doesn't actually manufacture the panel itself, so you can get the exact same screen with all the pros without the poor construction.Additionally, the back of the monitor doesn't seem to be compatible with third party multi-monitor stands and wall...

Excellent LCD panel. Bright, clear, with an amazing amount of work space and lots of options for managing color, etc. 2560X1080 is the way to go if you use lots of screen space when working

The buttons on the front are not mechanical in any way - just brushing them with your finger will activate them, which can be very frustrating in a tight work space. It happens alot, enough to make me wish I bought this from another manufacturer ;...

Wonderful image

You will get used to the odd aspect ratio quickly and after a while prefer it. You can easily do side-by-side documents or internet or whatever.

This monitor has the best image of any monitor that I have owned in 30 years. Works well with games as well as applications. I have had no problems with the workmanship on mine. I bought this after researching the best computer monitor on the internet...

After reading the reviews at this time, it appears that others are having trouble with the build quality of their monitors. I would suggest sending them back and getting a new one. Possibly spotty quality control but mine has been perfect. Quality...

Owned for 5 Months

I've owned this monitor for over five months now. For the majority of the time, I've thought the quality was pretty decent, and that others that had posted about shoddy quality had gotten lemons. Then today, I walked into my office, and found that the...

it's wide

Overly sensitive buttons in bad position. (-1 egg) ; Poor quality. (-2 eggs)

Looks nice. Build quality is lacking.

The screen is beautiful. Viewing angles are great. Colors really pop out at you. The emersion with this screen is super nice, especially when playing an FPS

The stand is a bit wobbly. The buttons are located in the worst possible position, bottom right of the screen. The buttons are all touch based so my hand would sometimes just barely touch the screen when moving the mouse around on the desk. this causes...
