Asus VG278HE

The Asus VG278HE is a versatile 27-inch monitor featuring a 144Hz refresh rate and a speedy pixel response.

Solid color performance. Great motion handling. Ergonomic stand.

Narrow viewing angles. No USB ports. Weak grayscale performance.

Asus VG278HE review

Asus's VG278HE could lay claim to being the ultimate gaming monitor. It's a 27in 1080p LCD with Nvidia 3D Vision support and a huge 144Hz refresh rate for super-smooth visuals.

It's expensive, but this monitor's high refresh rate and great contrast make it perfect for gaming

ASUS VG278HE review

It's expensive, but this monitor's high refresh rate and great contrast make it perfect for gaming

While 60fps is very smooth, it's not quite as silky smooth as a game could be, and restraining your graphics card in this way is a waste of its power. The higher refresh rates of 120Hz screens, such as the

ASUS VG278HE 27” 144Hz Gaming Monitor Review

Today we are looking at the latest 27 inch monitor from ASUS, the VG278HE – which sports a 1080p resolution, nVidia 3D Vision support and a whopping 144hz refresh rate for super smooth 3D gaming. This is an expensive screen, but can it deliver the goods?

144hz refresh rate ; fantastic for 3D gaming ; Good stand design ; need to spend extra for the 3D kit

expensive ; White purity is poor ; keep a cloth handy, glossy finish attracts fingerprints ; uniformity could be much better ; 120hz and 144hz difference is negligible in the real world

Kitguru says: A great looking screen which excels with 3D gaming, but little else.

ASUS VG278HE 27” 144Hz Gaming Monitor Review

With its buttery smooth, ultra fast response rate ASUS' original VG278H was built from the ground up to provide the best 3D gaming experience possible.

More reasonable price ; 144Hz refresh rate ; 3D options still available via optional upgrade kit ; Good sturdy stand ; Good default color profile

1080p resolution ; Not precisely a uniform panel ; Not really a general purpose display ; Few will notice the difference between 120Hz and 144Hz refresh rate

With its reasonable price, impressive response rate and easy to drive resolution there certainly is a lot to like about the new ASUS

Great monitor better deal.

I was skeptical buying a refurbished monitor, I have been wanting this monitor for quite sometime, but i'm disabled and on a very tight budget and could never afford one so at xmas I decided to splurge and buy a refurbished one and I don't regret it at...

Everything!!! 144hz, 120hz 3D, great for everything from movies to first person shooters in 1080p.

lack of instructions and vesa screws-very minor issues with the fact that it is a refurbished

Great refurb monitor for the value

Do your research people! You don't want to be stuck with a 27" 1080p monitor that you paid $250+ for, if you can't run it at 120 or 144 Hz. There are much cheaper alternatives out there, so make sure you have what you need to accomplish those refresh...

-Got this monitor for $249 which was a sweet deal -144 Hz -No dead pixels -1 year extended warranty is nice to have

-Minor scuffs and general signs of wear on glossy base plate and frame which aren't removable. It doesn't affect the functionality of the monitor, so I personally don't care. Also you don't really notice it if you're focused on what's on the screen....

Best bang for the buck

The monitor is very big. I came from a similar 24" monitor, and this feels much bigger and takes up a lot of space on my desk. Doesn't matter though, because the display is awesome. This monitor brand new is $100 more on Amaz. If you don't mind the...

- Great looking display - No dead pixels - 1 Year Warrantee - 144 Hz refresh rate

- Mine has fingerprints around the frame that are very obvious and hard to remove - I get green dots throughout the screen on rare occasion, usually not lasting more than a couple minutes and usually I can make them go away by turning up the fans. This...

Great display

Great display. I would buy again today hands down.

144hz, well built, have had zero display issues in almost a year ; I could not find a better display for the price at this size at that time, and I still could not be happier. I only use it for gaming, so I have zero issues with the TN viewing angle. I...

Don't even try to use the internal speakers. Turn them off. I couldn't imaging many gamers wishing to use internal display speakers anyway, and would almost certainly either be using external speakers or headphones, but they are barely usable. They...

Irrelevant

Great monitors while they lasted. Try this Asus monitor... This monitor isnt without some issues but it looks incredible. ASUS ROG PG278Q 27" WQHD 2560x1440 144Hz 1ms DisplayPort Ergonomic Back-lit LED G-SYNC Gaming Monitor

Awesome monitors. Look incredible. Paired with a decent video card these are awesome

Unfortunately they are irrelevant. With no display port inputs on these monitors they are useless with the new video cards. The new VC's only have display port inputs. If you dont already know display port or dvi are the only cables you can use if you...
