Asus VG278HE

When we reviewed the Asus VG278H earlier this year we awarded it an Editors' Choice for its overall performance and the fact that it was one of the first 120Hz monitors to support Nvidia's 3D Vision 2 with LightBoost technology. However, we weren't...

Solid color performance. Great motion handling. Ergonomic stand

Narrow viewing angles. No USB ports. Weak grayscale performance

The Asus VG278HE is a versatile 27-inch monitor featuring a 144Hz refresh rate and a speedy pixel response. It?s a bit pricey and loses some pop when viewed from an angle but it handles gaming and video with aplomb.

Best 27" Gaming Monitor Available

This is a great monitor although it has some shortcomings which prevent me from giving it a 5\/5 star rating. The Good: The best use of this monitor would be for those seeking the best 27" gaming monitor currently available on the market, this is 1 of...

Great Monitor

Very impressed with this monitor. I have it sitting next to my old 24" Dell 1920x1200 LCD and the difference in smoothness is night and day. If you have ever seen a high refresh rate CRT next to a LCD than you know what I mean. The only reason I...

Asus VG278HE review

Asus's VG278HE could lay claim to being the ultimate gaming monitor. It's a 27in 1080p LCD with Nvidia 3D Vision support and a huge 144Hz refresh rate for super-smooth visuals.

It's expensive, but this monitor's high refresh rate and great contrast make it perfect for gaming

WORTH CONSIDERING

ASUS VG278HE 27” 144Hz Gaming Monitor Review

Today we are looking at the latest 27 inch monitor from ASUS, the VG278HE – which sports a 1080p resolution, nVidia 3D Vision support and a whopping 144hz refresh rate for super smooth 3D gaming. This is an expensive screen, but can it deliver the goods?

144hz refresh rate ; fantastic for 3D gaming ; Good stand design ; need to spend extra for the 3D kit

expensive ; White purity is poor ; keep a cloth handy, glossy finish attracts fingerprints ; uniformity could be much better ; 120hz and 144hz difference is negligible in the real world

Kitguru says: A great looking screen which excels with 3D gaming, but little else.

ASUS VG278HE 27” 144Hz Gaming Monitor Review

With its buttery smooth, ultra fast response rate ASUS' original VG278H was built from the ground up to provide the best 3D gaming experience possible.

More reasonable price ; 144Hz refresh rate ; 3D options still available via optional upgrade kit ; Good sturdy stand ; Good default color profile

1080p resolution ; Not precisely a uniform panel ; Not really a general purpose display ; Few will notice the difference between 120Hz and 144Hz refresh rate

With its reasonable price, impressive response rate and easy to drive resolution there certainly is a lot to like about the new ASUS

Asus VG278HE

Sharp Images ; Vivid Colours ; Quick to update screen (low ms) ; 144Hz is sublime for gaming (super smooth frame rates with a high end gfx card) ; Whilst the monitor is big, it isnt "in your face

OSD controls are a little fiddly ; Apparently HDMI port only outputs at 60Hz ; As with all plastic monitors it is a little creaky when moving around ; You dont get 144Hz out of the box, it must be enabled first through your GFX cards control panel ;...
