Dont Get This Monitor!!

I bought the VK222U and all over the net people are having the same issues. If it's not the LiveFrame software that is bundled with it that wont work, or the fact that the CAM doesnt work AT ALL if you have XP SP3 installed or later operating system like Vista or Windows 7 forget it, the cam wont work and no-one around the world from all the forums I have searched have found a resolve.

At first, I was a little skeptical about buying this product becase the price was so low. It made me a little nervous. But with the way the economy is, I couldn't afford a huge screen with all kinds of this and that. I purchased the monitor, and...

The screen is much larger than you think it will be, which is really quite nice ; The cords in the back are well hidden from view with a clip to run all the cords through ; All the cords are high quality ; The buttons on screen work well

At first, i couldn't get the screen to play movies in any way other than full screen ; But, i fixed it ; The camera is a little low quality, but it works really well

Pretty good for the price

It's probably worth the price. It's somewhat handy to have a webcam, which takes decent shots. Colour is most of the time a little over-saturated but i kinda like that, but other times it's quite washed out. Asus splendid thing needs a little work and...

Amazing

For the $ a VERY good deal.

Crisp clean colors, no dead pixels. Sound works well, we shall see for how long... The built camera must use the newer chips, because it is doing 24fps at max res ; The HDMI port connection was tight, so it being vertical and possibly coming loose is...

The base is a bit weak. It doesn't bow or anything, but if bumped it does 'sway' a lot and takes a while to settle down

No Microphone? Seriously?

I guess I'm the stupid one for assuming a monitor with these technical features, a webcam, and at this price would include a mic.

terrible customer service

Asus products normally work great for me. I understand occasional DOA but replacement should not be this painful.

Note: When remove the plastic scratch guard remember that the webcam has no covering so note that do not try to remove it u will scratch the cover permenantley.
