BenQ XL2720Z

The BenQ XL2720Z is designed for gamers and loaded with features. It's a bit more expensive than a typical 27-inch monitor, but if extreme gaming performance is what you're after, it's money well spent.

Great port selection. Excellent gaming performance. Fast pixel response. 144Hz refresh rate

Pricey. Finicky touch buttons. Narrow viewing angles

Once again, BenQ has a winner on its hands with the new XL2720Z ($529) gaming monitor. Like its predecessor, the BenQ XL2720T, the XL2720Z lets you take your game to new levels, with a fast pixel response and dedicated first-person shooter (FPS) modes....

BenQ XL2720Z Monitor Review: A 27-Inch, 144 Hz Gaming Display

Many displays are marketed as gaming monitors. But only a tiny handful operate at refresh rates greater than 60 Hz. The BenQ XL2720Z sails along at 144 Hz and offers many gaming-specific features. Today we run it through our benchmark suite.

BenQ XL2720Z review

This gaming monitor bests its rivals on the notion of motion

1ms response rate ; Crystal clear image ; Adequate video inputs

Finicky touch buttons ; No built-in speakers ; Super pricey

The BenQ XL2720Z is a lightning-quick, premium gaming monitor that will serve any FPS fan well, bar none.

BenQ XL2720Z

The XL2720Z is a large, feature-packed gaming monitor that includes a motion-blur reducing mode, ultra-low input lag and even has a remote control for using the on-screen display. A step down from the higher-resolution, FreeSync-packing XL2730Z, it's a...

Excellent gaming performance ; Good ergonomics ; Loads of AV inputs ; Blur-reduction feature works well

Price just too high for resolution and image quality ; Doesn't have FreeSync

6 month check-in

Adam B here again, with the 6 mo check-in after the RMA. The OSD touch-sensitive buttons are a bit weird on this monitor. This was not the case on the screen I RMA-ed. I didn't do RMA 2 as the dongle controller works like a charm and I much prefer that...

Still solid image ; Monitor stand is great for day-to-day usage, relatively easy to rotate ; The short-cut pad/controller makes it veeery easy to use and change between pre-sets

Max K has the same issue I have, difficult to use touch sensitive buttons, half the time they don't respond ; Brightness has to be increased about 10% when monitor is in the rotated 9:16 position ; Once in a while when I'm tired I notice a certain...

can't detect displayport

The display port issue was a big deal for me as I have the habit of powering my monitor off and leaving my PC running.

144 hz refresh rate , it's 3d ready, motion blur

Colors not that great, as a prior reviewer if you using a display port and power off the monitor it will not detect the display port cable
