Correcting an error

I am writing to correct a statement someone made: "NEAR IPS. It isn't true IPS, but the colors, contrast ratio and viewing angles are almost in comparison with IPS monitors." This statement is untrue with regard to contrast ratio. A-MVA technology,...

Very high real contrast, due to A-MVA panel ; Better viewing angles than TN panels offer ; No fuzziness/noise/crystallization from a matte anti-glare treatment ; Very low input lag (5 ms) ; Outstanding pixel responsiveness, compared with older MVA...

Not capable of handling the Adobe RGB color space ; High glare glossy glass screen ; Only HDMI connection ; Backlight uses PWM ; More limited viewing angles than PLS, H-IPS, and S-IPS panels ; Very basic stand

Amazing Monitor! Perfect for design/gaming/document use!

I'm considering getting an HDMI switch, so I can fully utilize PC gaming to the max. When I hooked up my PC to HDMI (with HDMI to DVI Cable), I was really happy, but wanted to connect my PS3 to hook up. I wish dell provided a VGA to DVI adapter or a...

NEAR IPS. It isn't true IPS, but the colors, contrast ratio and viewing angles are almost in comparison with IPS monitors, and this is a steal! The glass screen also doubles as semi-mirror when the screen is turned off, which I found to be fairly cool....

This unit is not wall mountable and provides some glare, but unlike what other state - it's tolerable. If anything, get an anti-glare sticker screen and slap it on. I mean, it's glass anyway, right? One other problem was lack of DVI input. Who uses VGA...

IPS

Make sure you hear a click when you connect the base or it may fall off when connecting the HDMI cable pushing up. IPS is definitely a game changer for display panels and I want to be an early adopter for this good price.

Good price, even better if you get it on sale ; Viewing angles are good ; I like the glass since many people use this monitor and collects fingerprint, it is easy to clean and the glass protect the panel ; I feel better on this display, the white and...

is not 27in ; You really have to control the light on the room to avoid terrible reflections that can really bother but if you are willing to do that it is very nice monitor over all

Great Monitor

Took off an egg for the shaky stand, seems to me it could have been a little larger and not sacrificed the good looks of the monitor. I've only had it for about 9 days and so far so good, great for the price if you want a large, sharp screen to work with.

Great screen resolution and quality using HDMI ; Easy to Set up ; Touch sensitive buttons ; Good Build quality ; Great for gaming and work involving multiple windows

VERY SHAKY! I know it is secure and wont fall off, but with every touch of the power button or bump of the desk it will wobble for a good 2-3 seconds ; The base does not provide much height, resulting in an old text book being used as a monitor stand...

Awesome Monitor

The color accuracy is actually very good for a VA panel when calibrated. Check out the TFTCentral review for this monitor. They say the color accuracy is very close to some of the Dell UltraSharp IPS monitors and surpasses the Dell U2412M IPS monitor...

Elegant design ; Beautiful accurate colors ; Great native contrast ratio. (Way better than IPS and TN) ; Fast response time. (comparable to IPS)

Viewing angles not as great as IPS panels ; Overshoot causes slight inverse ghosting ; No DVI input ; Glossy screen might be a turn off for some people

NOT IPS PANEL

Per Dell's specifications (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&sku=320-9801), the monitor uses a VA panel, which is better than the commonplace TN, but not as good as IPS in terms of viewing angle or color...

Contemporary Styling ; Down-facing connectors (HDMI, VGA)

No DVI ; NOT an IPS monitor as advertised

Dell S2440L review

The first thing you'll notice on unboxing the Dell S2440L display is the glossy glass finish and the very high overall build-quality; it feels like a thing of value. See all: 19-24in display reviews.

The Dell S2440L is constructed to a very high standard, the edge-to-edge glass adding a touch of class to its already very clean minimalist lines. The display itself is capable of impressive performance. It's not the cheapest 24inch display you'll...
