Dell S2716DG review

The Dell S2716DG wins a few battles, but ultimately loses the war.

Dell S2716DG

Gaming monitors have been experimenting with their specifications for a couple of years, but now it feels like big-brand panels are settling into more of a rhythm: 1440p panels with G-Sync or AMD FreeSync are beginning to dominate.

Dell S2716DG G-SYNC Gaming Monitor Review

NVIDIA's G-SYNC is about two years old and in most respects, it has aged gracefully. The technology has undergone a number of different evolutions,

There has been a lot of excitement surrounding Dell’s S2716DG and with good reason. This monitor represents their first foray into adaptive

Dell S2716DG

Overall this monitor is truly stunning. I was skeptical of getting a 27inch for gaming but it's really a perfect fit with 1440p. Compared to the other monitors with similar specs (+GSync) the pricing can't be beat + I prefer the cleaner look and...

No dead pixels Clean look and feel Adjustable stand Comes with appropriate DisplayPort cable Beautiful colors Gsync!

Have to disable deep sleep mode out of the box Not in 'fast' mode by default Color and brightness out of the box is seriously washed out

Wait for something better to come out.

Way too many shortcomings just for smooth motion during gameplay. Sometimes I watch movies on my PC and I don't need this huge monitor taking up space on my desk only to play games. It's a not a great monitor for any other purpose. Even for gaming the...

Gaming performance is pretty awesome at 1440p and 144hz. Nice stand. Nice to have G-sync but screen tearing is usually very mild on a 144hz monitor to begin with.

The display is not HDCP compliant over DisplayPort. You can't watch any physical Blu-ray discs on this monitor, can't stream AZ prime movies in HD and you will run into other issues with media playback. Are you kidding me Dell? High end TN monitors...

Fantastic Gaming Monitor!

FYI - turn off Deep sleep in the menu, some computers can't seem to wake it from what i read. It will still go to regular sleep like most monitors do and wake on mouse movement without it.

I have been struggling to get a smooth game play ever since I upgraded to a nice rig with a i7-4790k and a GTX-980. I have had nothing but various IPS monitors in the past, but they where all 60hz. I was one of the skeptical ones that said you can't...

The only reason not to get this monitor is if you really need the perfect colors for professional photo/video editing . The colors are duller than an IPS, but for gaming and surfing you won't even notice unless you have an IPS right next to it, like I...

Terrific Monitor

I absolutely love this monitor so far. I am actually running a pretty dated GPU but G-Sync makes a substantial difference. As mentioned below, turn off the deep-sleep setting and set up a custom color profile. It really made the monitor look great. It...

None. Just make sure you turn off deep-sleep.

Solid, no-brainer Gsync monitor!

I bought mine through A mazon for $489 while Newegg had it still at $599. It's a great monitor with very minimum bells and whistles. It has Gsync, 2560x1440 resolution, 144hz refresh rate, you really don't need more than that. Deep Sleep mode is an...

No QC issues out of the box Gsync 2560x1440 max resolution 144hz max refresh rate best TN panel I've seen so far - the color reproduction is closer to IPS than the older/current TN, 1 ms response time, off viewing angles are better than my 4yr old asus...

Monitor menu buttons are very small, which makes it a little hard to press, I find that when I go to use the menu I need to have one hand over the top to keep from pivoting the display. The buttons are not bad, but they are not great either, just...

This is the monitor to have for 144 hz gaming

I've owned a Korean QNIX IPS monitor overclocked to 97hz for the last two years. Before buying this Dell, I purchased the Acer XB270 HU bprz from Newegg. The Acer monitor had massive QC issues with back light bleed, and it was more expensive. If I were...

-Aesthetically, this monitor is gorgeous. The design is understated, and expensive-looking - there isn't any in your face "GAMING x1Z FatA|ity" branding or crazy colors that clash with my build. -Viewing angles are a non issue - this monitor looks the...

I have no cons with this monitor.
