Dell 2408WFP

Dell's 2408WFP is the latest in the company's line of 24-inch panels, following on the heels of the much-beloved Dell 2407WFP (reviewed September 2006). Unfortunately for Dell, improving upon its predecessor isn't enough to push the 2408WFP above other...

Plenty of inputs; great grayscales; huge color gamut

Too saturated; less detail than we'd like

We applaud Dell’s 2408WFP for its efforts. While its saturation comes off a bit strong, we’d use this monitor on our desk without reservation—unless someone was offering us Samsung’s 245T too.

Dell Ultrasharp 3008WFP

Dell's jumbo entry in its Ultrasharp line of monitors, the 3008WFP, performs exactly as the company's marketing materials promise. This monitor truly “produces darker blacks.” In fact, we think Dell's underselling the device, because the 3008WFP takes...

Crystal-clear white; acceptable overall picture quality

Compressed grayscale; presets lead to color oversaturation

For gaming, the 3008WFP is as good as any other high-performance LCD. We also like the 3008WFP’s adjustable stand, its five built-in USB ports, and its built-in media reader. This is also the first DisplayPort monitor we’ve ever seen in the Lab. Too...

Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP

If you're looking to make the move to a 24-inch desktop monitor, put the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP ($689 direct) on your short list. Overall image quality on this versatile display is outstanding, and it offers an unusually large variety of multimedia...

Excellent color and text quality. Tons of A/V ports. Highly adjustable

Has trouble displaying the very darkest shades of gray. No auto pivot. You pay a premium price for this premium monitor

Solid performance and a vast array of multimedia features make Dell's UltraSharp 2408WFP the 24-inch display to beat.

Ultrasharp 2408WFP

The Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP is a well-designed, fully adjustable 24-inch monitor whose ports and features may justify its premium price.

Memory card reader Vast number of inputs

Expensive No built-in speakers

Regrettably (but understandably) this monitor's high-end performance, myriad features, and input selection come at high price. At about $700, it's one of the most expensive 24-inch displays we've seen

Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP

While most early adopters and Gen Y-ers are used to the idea of watching TV on their PC using services like Bebo, Hulu, Joost or a million alternatives, now the rest of the world is finally catching up. Have yet to join the party? It's about time you...

Excellent picture quality; great for gaming; plenty of input options

Needs color adjustment out of the box; stand tends to wiggle

the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP display performed better than expected.

Dell SP2208WFP

The Dell SP2208WFP is a versatile 22-inch display monitor that delivers outstanding overall performance and a pleasing design for a price that's hard to beat.

Awesome overall performance, Aggressively priced, VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports, Added bonuses include USB ports and Webcam, Steady base

Stand doesn't let you adjust the height or swivel, Vertical viewing angle is limited, Glossy screen coating isn't the best choice for office use

Dell UltraSharp 3008WFP

As each new succeeding generation of 30-inch displays comes out, you would expect new technology and lower prices. So far, you would be half-right—we've been getting new technology, but the price has been creeping up.

Ultrasharp 3008WFP

The $1999, 30-inch Dell 3008WFP beats other monitors to the punch as the first display equipped with the new DisplayPort connection. But its graphics performance, though respectable, trails that of other similar-size monitors. (For our look at other...

Very good text performance DisplayPort enabled

Less-than-stellar graphics performance Movie colors inaccurate

Six on-screen display (OSD) control buttons, which activate and let you navigate the easy-to-use display adjustments, reside in the lower-right corner of the monitor. The second OSD button is dedicated to the picture-by-picture function, which produces...

Ultrasharp 1908WFP

For a small monitor, the UltraSharp 1908WFP offers a lot of physical flexibility. While many rival 19-inch wide-screen LCDs and some larger models are content to offer merely tilt, Dell goes the extra mile to provide a particularly easy-to-maneuver...

Full set of physical adjustments Stylish design and integrated USB hub

Lackluster performance Poor graphics contrast

The Dell UltraSharp 1908WFP's offering of full physical adjustments on such a small monitor is attractive. But its text and graphics test scores, the lowest of the monitors we tested, make it less enticing

Dell 3008WFP

With a crazy number of inputs, 1080p over component and good rendering of 1080i, this monitor has set itself up as a potential TV replacement.

Includes possibly every video input, ever, Allows non-dual link video sources, Perfect for those who need high resolutions

Will need a monster graphics card to drive games at the native resolution, The sheer size means viewing angles might cause issues, Sound passthrough only on HDMI
